Imagine chilling at a traditional Cornish cottage overlooking the confluence of three rivers, where everyday worries become a distant dream.
Wake up to the amazing river view and have your breakfast on the front decking listening to the birds and watching the rise and ebb of the tide.
The front decking leads into the lounge, which is well equipped with a log burner, TV, books and games. To the rear of the cottage there is a new kitchen/dining area, which is well equipped for home cooking.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, which share a traditional Jack and Jill bathroom. There is a spacious and light double bedroom allowing you to watch the river as you lie in bed. The second bedroom is a small single which also serves as access to the rear garden with two further decked areas for kicking back and soaking up those views.
Please Note: 20% surcharge on the published price for stays in July and August (& stays must be for whole weeks).
Guest Parking
The only parking in Malpas is on the public road. This can be busy on sunny, summer days when people head out to Malpas for lunch at the pub. If you avoid coming and going during peak times, you should be able to park close to the cottage.
The Area and Transport
Just two miles from Truro, the village of Malpas is located on the confluence of the Tresillian and Truro rivers in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Fal River Estuary, which is also known as Carrick Roads (Cornish Dowr Carrek, meaning "rock anchorage"). The area around Malpas is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The award winning 'Heron Inn' is just three doors away from Fal River Cottage.
It's a pleasant walk along by the river to get into Truro. There is also a public bus service with a bus stop almost opposite the cottage.
In summary, Malpas is a very convenient place to stay for those that find themselves working in Truro for a short period. The tranquillity and peace on offer make a real contrast after being in the City.
