Living with Host

What does this mean?

Spacious accommodation in beautiful Victorian house. 12-15 mins walk from the Mayflower Theatre & 2 miles from the Nuffield Theatre. Allergy warning: There are two cats in the house who love any attention you may wish to lavish on them, so cat lovers are very welcome.

Two large, sunny double rooms one with small ensuite and the other with large wet room. The kitchen diner is shared with other guest and includes all facilities except washing machine. Wi Fi available. Linen is provided but please bring your own towels.

I am a music teacher and do vocal coaching, piano, harp teaching and composing. I have a music room with a grand piano and a harp. Musicians are particularly welcome.

Free parking is available on any of the three side streets which are under one minute walk away.
Rent is payable on arrival. Check in time is 6pm and check out time is 10am. Guests welcome by arrangement.

Guest Parking

Do park on the drive to unload and then there is parking on Atherley Road or Thornbury Avenue which are both 30 seconds walk away.

The Area and Transport

The house is under 15 mins walk from the Mayflower theatre in Southampton and 2 miles from the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton and 10 miles from Winchester Theatre. There is a huge common with three lakes within walking distance. The New Forest is a short drive away and you can walk on the shore of Lepe Beach and Weston Shore. If you fancy going kayaking, I can arrange this for free for you, just let me know. Southampton has a huge shopping centre and big cinema complex, There are lovely country pubs and the Isle of Wight is a 25 minute boat trip away. Osbourne House (English Heritage) and Mottisfont House (National Trust) are also close.

The entrance hall, stairs and landing are shared access. The upstairs kitchen/diner is shared with the other theatre guest, if there is one during that week. Otherwise there is sole use of the kitchen/diner.

Excluded Facilities

The family bathroom on the top landing is not for Guest use.

Other rules

Please bring slippers since it is a no shoes house. Please do not smoke anywhere near the house. In winter you may want to bring a fleece or dressing gown because the ceilings are high so it is not always very hot. If you could recycle your rubbish that would be great but I will take it to the outside bins. Cat lovers are particularly welcome. I have two cats, so please don't book if you are allergic to them. Please double lock the door and set the alarm if you are the last one leaving the house. Look forward to seeing you.

Great digs, virtually self contained with own bathroom and seperate kitchen. Friendly host. Easy 15 minute walk to the Mayflower Theatre. Free parking on the side streets also a bonus. Always stay here when in Southampton when I can.
