Glo was an extremely warm and friendly host. A lovely 25 minute walk to Arts Theatre, good parking availability, with all the amenities you need in close proximity. Thank you for my stay.

Much appreciated.. Happy Christmas.
Lovely house with beautiful, lovingly tended garden. Lovely friendly ambiance. An easy bus ride away from city centre. My cosy little sunny bedroom looked out over a garden roof rather than the garden itself. I really enjoyed my stay.

Whoops ,sorry I hadn't realised it had the wrong heading, It should have been for my other room. Wish you had pointed it out to me and I could have rectified.
Would recommend! Great hosts! Nice digs!

Disappointed and surprised to see a 3 for Cleanliness. What did you see that I didn't. Also a 3 for value when you were upgraded to a large double room that is usually much more than you paid. That room had been deep cleaned .
Lovely host who leaves you to do your own thing, lovely walk into the theatre through the park and a beautiful house.

Many thanks to the charming Mr Cox ! Always welcome.
Glo is a very friendly and relaxed landlord and I enjoyed my stay with her.

This was my most expensive digs of the 14 week tour (double what I'd paid in Exeter the week before for a lovely double room with full use of all the household facilities & pick up drop off from station).
The room is very small and the bed I'm sure was smaller than a standard single. The shower room was also teeny and was shared with two other students.
I've got to be honest, I didn't feel very welcome - I was never shown a living room and why I couldn't use the bathroom upstairs I've no idea. I was told to be "extremely quiet" when I arrive back at nights. I was grumbled at for using the washing machine.
Yes there was breakfast and the walk into the city was lovely.
HOST'S RESPONSE
I was surprised to read such a negative, unfair and incorrect review as my others from TDB had been brilliant.
The price is the price. If you can find a B&B for £36 in Cambridge or elsewhere so be it.
It pays to READ the details! It is not my intention to mislead. I run a very successful B&B.
I state in my details it is a small room. The bed however is a standard.
I state in the details that the shower is shared with 1/2 others, some professionals. At the time of this guest's stay I had a doctor, so it varies. As theatre people tend to get up late this has never been a problem. Again this is standard size.
Yes, I do request guests to come in quietly late at night to consider everyone in the house.
I state in the details that washing can be done if staying 6 days or more (this guest stayed 5 ). However, I have always been willing to accommodate if the guest has the courtesy to ask rather than just use it as this guest did without asking, if convenient. That’s just bad manners.
My bathroom and living room are private. There is a settee in the breakfast room which many a guest has relaxed on. Also a beautiful garden, weather permitting, or conservatory.

Most welcoming. An excellent host.
Very clean, plenty of facilities.

On arrival Glo was very welcoming and friendly and showed me around her lovely house.
The room is small yet comfortable, no TV but good wifi. The bathroom is downstairs on the other side of the house but is your own to use.
As I learnt the hard way, because I didn't read the details thoroughly enough, you're not allowed to use the oven. This was a shame because I stay in digs so I can cook and keep my tour costs to a minimum. Using the microwave for microwave meals or eating out makes the already quite pricey £35 a night price tag a bit steeper.
Glo has her reasons for this and I totally respect that, but if like me you're used to using the kitchen then this review is just to make you aware.

Glo by name and glow by nature.
Stayed with Glo in spring 2013 while working at The Arts Theatre.
Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with Glo as a charming host.
A great 20 minute walk into town, mostly along the Cam. A bonus rather than a negative. Quicker if you walk as the crow flies.
A cozy single bed room with hanging space and chest of drawers?
Continental breakfast included should you want it.
At the start of a 16 week tour I can only hope that all my digs are as pleasant and enjoyable as this.

"I recently stayed with Glo in Cambridge and cannot praise it enough. I was made to feel incredibly welcome and at home. Not only this but Glo includes a wonderful breakfast with her price which is a very welcome morning wake up. The house is beautiful and is a lovely 20 minute walk from town. The room itself is very cosy, comfortable and homely. Of all the places I stayed on tour this was by far the best. It felt like a home from home which is the highest praise I can give. Everywhere else I booked through the theatre's digs lists, but now I will be heading to this website first. Thank you Glo. My stay with you was a pleasure."- Review added by TDB Admin as was received before the Review feature existed.

"Lovely. Comfortable and peaceful which is exactly what I wanted at the end of long days. Great breakfasts and late opening co-op meant I never went hungry. Glo was an excellent hostess." - Review added by TDB Admin as was received before the Review feature existed.
