Living with Host
On offer is a comfortable double room and separate bathroom. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, all living areas and garden as their own. There is seating in the garden for relaxing on sunny days. I also have further rooms that can be used if extra space is need, for example, for exercising, storage or to accommodate friends or relatives that may like to join you, during your time in Chester.

There is off road parking on my drive available for those bringing their own car
The Area and Transport
My house is in an area called Handbridge, which just the other side of the River Dee to Chester town centre. The Storyhouse Theatre is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the house and the Grosvenor Park, site of summer productions is even nearer - only 5 minutes' walk!
Handbridge is a safe, pleasant, sought after location and has shops, including a butchers, deli, greengrocers and a local mini ASDA store. There are also many pubs and a wine bar.
My house is within walking distance of the train station and bus terminal, though I am usually around to pick you up if you arrive by public transport.
Chester is a pretty town to visit and there are water meadows 5 minutes from the house if you fancy a walk by the river, in more rural surroundings.

Really enjoyed staying at Joy’s place in Chester. She’s super friendly and welcoming, and the location is perfect for Storyhouse, really convenient and easy to get around from. She’s also got two whippets who are the cutest! Would definitely stay again.

Joy is a wonderful host - so lovely to chat with as well! Room is clean and quiet, bed is very comfortable (which made me sleep way more than I should have!). A calming, pleasant 20-minute-walk to the theatre or train station.

Had a wonderful stay at Joy's, very conveniently located in a charming area just outside the city centre which is perfectly walkable and close to lovely walking spots by the meadows.
Joy was very communicative as a host and kept me updated with any bits that were happening during the week. Private use of the bathroom was a massive plus too! My room was very spacious and had good storage areas and a good view of the garden.
Could not fault the digs, would definitely stay again. Thank you, Joy!
