About these Digs

Living with Host

What does this mean?

Private, quiet and a perfect place to switch off after work. The room is a large double in a big bright Edwardian terraced house on a quiet street, close to the city centre and Salford Quays (for the Lowry), with good transport links near by. Diversity friendly.

Guests enjoy the quiet location and ability to decompress in a calm and relaxed space. I enjoy meeting new people but also know you'll need your space and privacy and like to spend quite a lot of time on my own.

The Area and Transport

The house is in a quiet and friendly multicultural neighbourhood. 8 minutes walk away there's a good real ale bar an Indian and a Tibetan takeaway, and 5 minutes away there's a Tesco and Jamaican, Asian and Polish supermarkets.

Close to buses for city centre theatres and walkable to the Lowry (40 mins). Ubers to City or Lowry are about £6-£8

I'm mainly vegetarian so prefer a veggie person or someone who doesn't cook a lot of meat. I'm very keen on keeping the house ship shape, so a tidy person who will clear and clean up straight after using the kitchen and bathroom is preferred. Thanks!

Please let me know if you would like to welcome an overnight guest (2 nights only per week) there is a £15 charge per night for the guest. Thank you.

In the very unlikely event that the house keys are lost and the locks and keys need replacing, there is a £200 charge for this.

You are welcome to do one load of laundry per week. If you wish to do more , there is a small charge (£3)

Heating: (October to March): due to the huge hike in fuel prices and in order to keep guest room rates affordable, the central heating is usually timed to come on mornings and then evenings. If you like, we can discuss specific hours you would like your room to be heated and how we can make that work.

I had a great stay at Helen’s lovely home. She is an incredibly kind and friendly host and her home was spacious and quiet. Should I be back in Manchester I will absolutely be in touch with Helen to stay again. I couldn’t recommend her enough!
