Living with Host
I offer one large room with a double bed. The
shower room has recently been updated and
is a few steps away from the bedroom. The loo is next door to the shower room. It
is a lower villa terraced house with a lovely garden.
There is a bus stop right outside with 2 buses which cover all the theatres in Edinburgh.
Guest Parking
There is free parking on my street.
The Area and Transport
The room is large with bay windows and blinds.
There is a double bed, desk and wardrobe.
Also provided is a full length mirror and hairdryer.
The bus stop outside has the 49 which takes you to the playhouse theatre and festival theatre. Whereas the number 1 takes you to the Lyceum and Traverse.

Perfect digs. I couldn't have asked for more. Right by a bus stop and not too far from a team stop so super easy to get into Edinburgh city centre. Spacious room, clean with a double bed. Perfect digs.

Shay was a great guest.
Kate was an absolute dream to live with. Extremely welcoming and made me feel at home straight away. Went above and beyond as a host and was so kind and lovely on a daily basis. Especially over the Christmas period she was very accommodating with the flexibility of the booking with sometimes having my partner over and sometimes not. Mainly used the bus to get to the playhouse but if you get a travel card you can save a nice amount.

Kate was lovely and the room cosy. A McColls was really close for shopping, and a Tesco about 5-10min walk away. Walk into town was about 45min, or several bus choices were 2-5min away.

Lovely host, and bedroom was small but had everything I needed. Problem with ants in the kitchen though!

Comfortable bed,friendly host!
Only down side about the room is the amount of noise that it picked up from passers & buses & cars.I can sleep through pretty much anything so luckily it wasn't that much of an issue but could well be for someone else.

Kate was very welcoming, and the bed was comfortable. An easy walk to or from the theatre, and right next to a park and near a big Tesco.

A beautiful warm home just outside of Edinburgh. Town is around 15 minutes by bus, but the bus stop is very close to the house.

Kate really sorted me out such late notice and the room was so cosy and I slept! Frequent buses go straight to town and past the playhouse and up to kings theatre!

Nice little place, basic and unpretentious. A large unobtrusive dog in attendance. Very good cafe just around the corner.

Great stay at Summerfield. Friendly and comfy getaway from fringe. Easy on bus day and night. Stop outside house. Ended up walking a lot though. Good exercise.

This was a comfortable digs but I wouldn't say it was exactly as advertised.
In the profile it says that the walk to the Playhouse theatre is 15 minutes. I have long legs and don't hang about and it would take me just over 20 minutes and from the digs to the theatre it is uphill all the way so can feel like a bit of a trek.
The room itself is a good size but the lack of a blackout blind (as was included in the profile) did mean early morning sun which may or may not bother others. What did wake me up though was the noise from traffic and passers-by outside the bedroom window. It is single glazed and the road does get noticeably busy in the morning.
HOST'S RESPONSE:
In response to this review I have made amendments to my digs. I have since bought a black out blind. I have changed the walking distance to the Playhouse Theatre to 40 minutes and I am looking into double glazing for the back windows. This has been the only complaint and have had many guests who have enjoyed their stay.
