Living with Host
A small, bright double room with views of Canterbury Cathedral in a house with a large shared living area and a big beautiful garden with secluded areas to sit or lie in a hammock. In walking distance to Canterbury city centre and woodland walks. It's a safe, quiet street near the historic St Martin's Church - the oldest church in the English speaking world.
Message me if you need just one night and I can alter the settings temporarily to allow you to book for a slightly higher daily rate.
Guest Parking
There is free parking on my drive with enough space for a van, minibus or two cars.
The Area and Transport
The house is in a quiet residential road close to woodland walks. It may be possible to borrow a bike from me - please ask.
It's a 15 minute walk into the town centre Canterbury Cathedral and a 20 minute walk to the Marlowe Theatre. There are frequent buses to the Gulbenkian Theatre, Colyer Fergusson Hall and University of Kent from St Thomas School bus stop and the bus station which are 10/15 minutes' walk respectively - total journey about 30 minutes. Whitstable (the seaside) is a 25 minute drive or a 30 minute bus ride. Both train stations are about 25 minutes walk with connections to London, Margate, Dover and so on.
Nearby supermarkets are Waitrose, Tesco (10 minutes' walk), Sainsbury & M&S (15 minutes walk). The Farmer's Market is 25 minutes walk. Canterbury has gardens - Dane John, Westgate, Toddler's Cove - and a riverside walk along the Stour. Punts can be hired in the town centre.

The garden is shared - there are three areas: the patio, a terrace overlooking the cathedral and a secluded area with a large permanent tent and hammock (accessed by steps).
If visitors have bikes, these may be stored in the garage (securely locked).
