Self-Contained
Our garden annex studio offers a peaceful place to stay, tucked away at the end of our garden and surrounded by trees and greenery. Despite being in the city, it feels surprisingly tranquil — a little retreat away from the bustle.
The studio features a fold-down king-size bed, a large comfortable sofa, and a compact kitchen area with a hob, fridge, sink, storage cupboards, and a combination microwave oven. There is also a private bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.
For storage, the annex includes an integrated wardrobe and chest of drawers. Large bifold doors open across the front, letting the space flow out to the seating area outside on warm days, while long curtains ensure a restful night’s sleep.
The annex does not have a traditional TV; however, it is equipped with a projector and speaker that guests can easily connect to using their own device. This allows you to stream TV shows, films, or other content and enjoy a big-screen viewing experience.
Guest Parking
There is 1 car parking space on our driveway however please note, it will not fit a van.
There is on street parking with no restrictions at the weekend and weekdays parking restrictions from 8am -6pm with 2 hours max parking. We have street parking permits available for occasional use.
The Area and Transport
Less than a five-minute walk brings you to Portswood High Street, where you’ll find a supermarket, plenty of local amenities, and a great mix of bars, cafés, and restaurants.
Highfield is also home to the University of Southampton, which gives the area a lively, friendly buzz throughout the year. The university grounds host parks and regular events that visitors can enjoy.
Highfield itself is a conservation area known for its beautiful character houses. It’s also an easy walk to Southampton Common, a large green space with lakes and peaceful walking routes—perfect if you enjoy being outdoors.
Buses: The annex is on a direct bus route to Southampton city centre in one direction and Southampton airport and airport parkway train station in the other direction. A 5 minute walk up the road takes you to a bus station interchange to get all around the city.
Car: 5 minute drive from M27 & M3
Beaches 20-30 minute drive & New Forest 15 minute drive

The annex is at the end of our garden and has a decking area immediately out the front with a comfortable seating area. The garden is shared with us but during term time, school hours, you'll largely enjoy it to yourself. Access is through our side garage door.

The family home is not available to guests.
