Living with Host
There are 2 double rooms in this refurbished home with shared bathroom, living room and kitchen. There are TVs in each room. You may be with the host or I may be somewhere else and you will have it to yourself? Refurbished to a high standard. The kitchen is modern with a fan oven and cooker hob. Washer and dryer and a dining area. The living room has a lovely fireplace which changes colours in the new electric fire making it cosy and homely. There is a garden to the front and back fenced for dogs. It is only 30 seconds from the River Aire. A 17 minute walk to Saltaire Train station at the side of the canal, taking 15 minutes to Bradford centre or the same to Leeds. Saltaire is a UNESCO world heritage village full of art galleries, bakeries, micro pubs and beautiful buildings. An old worlde village next to a river, canal and park. My house is enroute to beautiful walks at the side of the canal and river where herons fly over. Very different from the urban sprawl of Bradford
Guest Parking
Parking is at the back of the house in a cul de sac on Larch Grove, but there isn't enough room for residents half the time, so best to park 30 steps away up the road. You can bring the car to the gate to offload your stuff then park a few yards away. Or you can park your car at Hirst Wood car park and walk across the canal at Hirst Wood lock walking only a few minutes to the house. From this parking it is quicker and easier to drive to Bradford only 15 minutes drive in to Bradford town centre. Or if you want to park your car and not move it at all, we can get you a place in the cul de sac and there it will stay. Free on street parking.
The Area and Transport
Saltaire is a World UNESCO heritage village full of micro pubs, bakeries, art galleries, antique shops & restaurants in an old world setting. It is next to the River Aire & Leeds to Liverpool canal. My house is near Hirst Wood which is full of bluebells and wild garlic in springtime. A 17 minute walk at the side of the canal to Saltaire Train Station where it is 15 minutes by train to Bradford town centre and the same to Leeds town centre. I bought this house as my retirement home as I have a dog and I am only 30 seconds to a lovely dingly dell path at the side of the river for lovely dog walks. Lots of people on these countryside paths for walking, cycling & running. The Park Run runs past my house every Saturday morning. Another world from urban Bradford. Having been a theatre digs host for over 10 years, I now am giving my two spare double rooms to Theatre guests if they would like to stay. The whole property has been refurbished to a good standard in the midst of wood & water.
