Living with Host
Lovely calm double room in a stylish period family house with king-sized bed and comfy mattress (Loaf perfect mattress). Large chest of drawers and back of the door hanging space available. Close to town centre and independent shops and cafes. Walkable to Old Vic and Hippodrome and well-connected by train, bus and electric scooter. There is also a bike store nearby. The room has a lock.
We are a family home - we have a 4 year old and also a very chilled out cat. We have a calm and cosy home. We work as a clinical psychologist and an animation director and we value the arts and theatre. Our house is a beautiful townhouse and we think you would have a comfy and pleasant stay here.
There is a wet room/bathroom downstairs (next to the kitchen) with an excellent shower and a loo. This has a lock on the door and is private and comfortable. We don’t use this shower so no queues for that!
Guest Parking
We can obtain local parking permits for you if needed for £3 per day. Free parking is 15 min walk away.
The Area and Transport
Our home is in Montpelier - an arty area of Bristol a 20 minute walk from the city centre and also from the independent shops and cafes on Gloucester Road. Lovely streets nearby full of multicoloured houses, local cafe The Bristolian, and delis and farm shops. In the other direction is St Werburghs complete with city farm and cafe. We’re really near Montpelier train station which connects to Temple Meads and elsewhere in the city. Electric scooters are available nearby to use as well, so you could easily zip down to the Old Vic or Hippodrome. There are also local buses. Walk to the Hippodrome is approx 20 minutes and Old Vic 25 mins, or quicker by bus/scooter. We’re very near the Wardrobe Theatre too.
This area has a great feeling to it - full of beautiful street art and with a good community vibe.

I had a wonderful stay here during my 3 weeks in Bristol. Was cosy, warm and comfortable.
Lucy and her family are super lovely, caring and thoughtful. Also enjoyed the company of their cat and her fluffy cuteness! Would definitely want to stay here again if ever back in Bristol :) x
