Self-Contained

What does this mean?

The space is an annexe, adjoining our house. As the house was built in 1806, it has plenty of quirky little features, like a stained glass bathroom window, sash windows and hugely thick stone walls. There is a spacious double bedroom, private bathroom (with bath only - no shower), living room and tiny kitchenette with a fridge, toaster and microwave.

Guest Parking

There is a parking space available on our drive, but no extra spaces for guest parking as it is a private drive and the parking is limited.

The Area and Transport

We live in an idyllic spot. We have a large sheltered garden which you are welcome to make use of, and we live next to a wood. A five minute walk down the hill takes you on the Kennet and Avon canal towpath, where you can cycle to Bath or Avoncliff or Bradford on Avon, which are all stunning. The bus stop with regular direct buses into Bath is 100m from the end of the drive. We have a fabulous local farm shop at the top of the hill, and beautiful walks in the meadow just up from the house, or along the canal. There is a great pub that has just opened as a community venture, serving food and was featured in 'The remains of the day'!

This space is shared with 2 Hosts and 1 child.

There is a door that links our main house with the annexe, but we lock it whenever we have guests, so that the two spaces are entirely separate. If you want to use the washing machine, you are welcome to but it is upstairs in our bathroom, so we can arrange a convenient time together.

We are happy to accommodate visiting children. Our.garden has lots of things for children to play with (trampoline, swings, sand pit) and we have loads of books and games and toys here.
