Welcome to my home! You'll be staying in a clean, modern one bedroomed 2nd floor flat in Marylebone/Regent's Park.
Easy walk to West End (and most London theatres) in a clean, bright industry friendly apartment.
Important Note - I only have one week left (in 2024) under London letting rules (from Aug onwards). Please message prior to booking and read guest requirements (below).
It's my home, but I'm renting it to guests in the similar field (we're writers and industry friendly). You'll have full use of the flat, apart from the 'landlord's cupboard'.
THE FLAT:
My flat is clean, calm, modern/minimal, but cosy. It's clutter free (I'll throw most personal stuff in the landlords cupboard), but with a creative feel, as we're both writers. Flat is about 500 Sq Feet. The double bedroom (with double bed) is a good size, with a clothes rail and a new tallboy chest of drawers, as well as a Rourk radio. The sitting room (TV, Radio/CD player) and kitchen are a good size for a couple. Kitchen is well stocked with a cafetière etc. I'll leave milk, tea & coffee for arrival. The bathroom is white tiled and a good size, with new shower over bath. There are large windows in the sitting room which open onto the lane, and the window in the bedroom is filled by a beautiful tree during summer and autumn (with the most amazing yellow/orange leaves). I'm central London, but located down a quiet tree lined lane. Once the double glazed windows are shut it's pretty quiet, (although you may hear the bin men - but they are not loud enough to disturb my sleep). I am super sensitive to noise and this is quiet flat (generally you can sit with the windows open and not hear traffic etc). You rarely hear the neighbours as the building is properly sound proofed. It is central London though, so you may hear occasional street noise. I've added a Dyson purifier to the bedroom, as I like to sleep with the windows shut, but I missed the feeling of a gentle 'breeze'. I've also put a blackout blind in the bedroom. You'll have guest pillows, guest bed linen/towels (all bought new for the Theatre Digs letting) and there'll be a zipped protective fabric cover on the mattress. The heating is electric (and warms up fast), but the flat's well insulated so I rarely need to put the heating on. The building has full CCTV and a secure entrance. The flat has secure locks (inc a security lock, installed by a security company). Caretaker on site. The lane is well lit, as is the entrance to the building.
The area is ideal for theatres.
WEST END:
The West End is three stops on the Bakerloo line (my flat is 3 minutes walk to Baker Street tube) or a 14 minute cab ride to Soho/West End. Or you can walk to Soho (30 minutes walk) and West End (about 40 minutes walk). I've walked back from Soho/Covent Garden in the evening and always felt pretty safe.
REGENTS PARK THEATRE:
The park entrance is 4 minutes walk away and it's a 13 minute walk to the theatre (less if you cut through the park).
OTHER THEATRES:
I'm very central, so most theatres (in all directions) will be a short walk or tube ride away.
TRANSPORT:
You're located 3 minutes from Baker Street Tube, with access to most tube lines. There's a bus stop on Baker Street going north and into the West End and also Marylebone Rd going in the other directions. Kings Cross/Euston are 13 minutes on the tube, Paddington is 10 minutes by tube or 23 minutes walk. Marylebone station and tube is 5 minutes walk. There's short stay metered parking on the lane and in the nearby streets or around edge of Regents Park, as well as longer stays in the multi-story car parks nearby.
SUPERMARKETS:
There's a full Waitrose on Marylebone High Street. Tesco Local at end of lane, bigger Tesco further down Baker Street, Sainsbury local on Baker Street, small M&S in Marylebone Station and a Co-op near Baker Street tube.
THE AREA:
You'll be located in north Marylebone, near Marylebone High Street, Baker Street & Regent's Park. Marylebone High Street (Marylebone Village) is a 10 minute walk away, filled with great restaurants and cafes - so if you have down time you're next to a calm, safe but vibrant high street. Marylebone has become super chic and smart in the last five years, so there's an array of beautiful shops and good restaurants. Daunts Books is a lovely old building and there's the Wallace collection and Wigmore Hall near Marylebone High Street. And there's always the option of a walk (or jog!) in Regents Park (Entrance to park is 4 mins away). Soho is a 30 minute walk (or a couple tube stops) and I've always found the area to be fairly safe and regularly walked back (often from the West End) in the evening. Hampstead (and the glorious ponds) are about an hours walk. There's a farmers market in Marylebone (behind Waitrose) every Sunday morning. There'a a Waitrose and newly opened Bayley & Sage (beautiful pasta), as well as La Fromagerie selling an amazing array of cheeses, just off the high street. There are also lots of supermarkets - see above. Gyms in the area, including Fitness First and BXR. Several yoga studios in the area as well.
GUESTS: Theatre professionals, professional performing artists, technical/production personnel only please. Also accept film industry professionals. You'll be asked to verify your professional status with professional bodies, Equity, BECTU, MU, ABTT all accepted. Guest must have been reviewed by other hosts and be working in a production (for insurance purposes). Payment in advance for period of stay, days or weeks. Flat isn't suitable for children or pets.
HOUSE RULES: Strictly no smoking of any kind, including vaping/e-cigarette and illegal substances. Strictly no guests and no parties. Please leave the flat clean on departure. If staying longer than two weeks, please do basic cleaning (cleaning products provided) during your stay.
I only have one week left available under London letting rules - from Aug onwards. Unfortunately, I've also had to increase pricing because of increased utility costs when guests stay. Please message me prior to booking as rejecting bookings for longer periods reduces my acceptance rate. I've adding photos, but will update soon as they were taken about a year ago (when I first decided to rent my flat on Theatre Digs, but didn't get around to it.) Main change being there's now a blackout blind in the bedroom and I've updated some of the furniture.

There's a lift at the back of the building. The flat isn't suitable for wheelchairs unfortunately.

Short-Term Let Licence Letting licences are not required for digs in this area at the moment.
