Living with Host

What does this mean?

We offer a clean, quiet single and double room, with shared bathroom, on a residential street next to the Rowntree Park. You're welcome to make use of the kitchen to cook while you're with us too.

We're just 15 minutes' walk from York's theatres and train station, and two minutes' walk from vibrant Bishopthorpe Road, with its mix of small independent shops, cafes, bars, restaurants... there are also two small supermarkets, a dry-cleaner, two greengrocers and a butcher. Oh, and plenty of gift shops if you're in the mood.

Parking is free, but is a five-minute walk from the house. We can send a map on request showing free parking areas.

We have one cat, Freddie. He's not allowed in your room (even if you're not allergic, the next guest may be) but please feel free to befriend him elsewhere in the house.

Energy costs are bonkers at the moment so we only have the heating on for a couple of hours each day. Your bed has an electric blanket,
