Living with Host
Ground floor room in original 2 storey extension at the back of our 4 storey Victorian terraced house with direct access to the small garden. 6 steps up to front door from footpath, and then 6 internal steps down to the very quiet room, standard double bed, hanging wardrobe, small table, bedside shelf with Roberts radio, ample storage cupboards, heavy curtains and blind on large sash window overlooking garden. TV mounted on articulating arm on wall. USB charging points.
Bright and airy En Suite bathroom with walk-in shower, loo, washbasin with heated mirror over, heated floor, large skylight.
Kitchenette adjacent with toaster, kettle, small fridge, Belfast sink and food prep. area but no microwave or cooker but you have the use of our cooker in the main kitchen where you also have a shelf in the fridge.
Guest Parking
This is a residential area of terraced houses built in 1870's, so no off street parking is available.
There are parking metered spaces adjacent, but expensive.
The Area and Transport
We are in zone one, just off the tree lined A23 Kennington Road, one mile from the National Theatre and the South Bank. On 3 bus routes,3, 159, and 59, 2' walk to bus stops. 8' walk to 3 tube stations: Kennington, Elephant and Castle, and Lambeth North.
25' walk to the National Theatre.
Quiet pub "The Ship" opposite. Shopping Parade with dry cleaner,coffee shop,art gallery, 2 hairdressers, a barber and a good corner shop 1' walk and 24hr shop 8 min by bus.

It has its own small kitchenette area next door to the bedroom, with a small working surface area, washing machine under which you are free to use, tea, coffee and toast making facilities, but no cooker or oven, but free use of the main kitchen. We provide tea and coffee.

Had a great stay in this lovely, cozy room. The room is set up so well and it's really easy to feel at home there. David and Libby were such generous and welcoming hosts - very friendly and helpful but also very respectful of privacy. Really great location too. I would definitely stay again if the room is available.

We were so pleased to have Tanuja, we had many interesting chats at 8 or 9 pm when she finished work and we look forward to seeing her again.
Love staying with Libby & David. Such a lovely an welcoming couple, always up for a chat but equally offer privacy. The room is a steal for its location and facilities. I'll be back when they can squeeze me in!

Adam was a brilliant guest, it was a pity we didn't see more of him because of his long hours and he will always welcome back.
This is great place to stay! The room is perfect, with a lovely ensuite. Very cozy and in a great location. David and Libby are both lovely. Very kind and caring people. I felt very welcomed by them both, and in a moment of panic David got rid of a spider for me. Would recommend to anybody looking for a place! :)

David and Libby could not be kinder or more welcoming. David is a problem-solver, too, so if anything isn't right he doesn't gaslight, he fixes it. Lots of sweet added extras, like new soap, toothpaste and brushes in the bathroom, towels and sheets changed regularly. The location is perfect with easy access to everything. Check out the Kennington Coffee Shop around the corner, a rare find where people from the community come in the afternoons to chat as a group.

Staying at the Chiltons was a joy. The room and bath were exactly what I was hoping for. I was putting up a play in the neighborhood and it was a short walk to the theater. It was also a short walk to the many attractions on the South Bank, and most mornings I ended up in Andrew’s coffee shop, one minute away for early caffeine. Especially convenient: a laundry that cleaned and folded a bag of clothes for twenty pounds. The Chiltons were enormously kind and helpful. I expect to return.

What can i say about David and his wife, they are an incredibly generous and hospitable couple where nothing is too much. The room was perfect and if you do any work or rehearsals in London this is the only accommodation for you. It's centralised location is 20 minutes from Waterloo and 10 minutes from the Bakerloo and northern line. David provided me with a breakfast area which massively appreciated and the room was warm and cozy perfect after a long day.
