Living with Host

What does this mean?

This is a well kept sunny Victorian home in a friendly residential street close to lots of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. We have 2 double rooms available - the main front bedrm and the middle bedrm. If renting out 2 rooms we rent to the same booking party only so ideal for anyone looking to share with a touring buddy (do message us if both rooms are required and we can unblock ). Communal spaces in the house are shared with our 1 lodger - he’s sometimes away on travels so sometimes the place would be all yours. The kitchenette is well equipped - 2 ring electric hob, mini oven, microwave, toaster, all necessary utensils - and there's always supplies of coffee, tea, cereals etc for guests.
We have good quality mattresses, cotton bed linen, and blinds as well as curtains on windows.
1 Guest per room only - partners are welcome by arrangement. £10 extra per night.
Laundry service available.

We live in the back extension/annex so pretty much always on call if needed.

The Area and Transport

Our tree-lined street is just off The Avenues which is Hull's well known and attractive Conservation Area.

Hull Truck Theatre, New Theatre and Hull City Hall are a 10mins bus journey away (bus stop at end of street) and a 10mins drive away. The walk is about 40mins. We can rent out a bicycle for a small fee to anyone interested.

There's a Yoga Studio and Pilates studio close by (20mins walk away) as well as an Edwardian swimming pool with gym / sauna & steam facilities.

Our local Health Food store (on the corner of our street) has freshly baked breads on Fridays.

Guest bedrooms can be locked from the inside. Lodgers bedroom is down the corridor away from the guest bedrooms.

Strictly shoes off upstairs. Please leave all shoes in downstairs hallway, many thanks. We recommend bringing slippers for a more comfortable stay, especially in Winter months.

Please recycle all recyclables in bin provided so the main bin can be left free for rubbish.

No parties unless by pre-arrangement.

Had a lovely stay here! Beautiful street with lovely shops at bars one street down. Was a short and easy bus ride to the theatre. Would stay here again !

Beautiful house! Everywhere was spotless and made for a very comfortable stay! Good location is you have a car; free parking outside house and less than 10 min drive to the theatre. Would definitely stay again!

Booked 2 rooms for myself and colleague Meg on an overnight stay - the next morning neither of us wanted to leave this beautifully curated living space! We didn't meet Teresa, but had really clear communication - and helpful info sheets in the house. We were very appreciative of the shelf of breakfast cereals and milk in the fridge - saved us deciding what to do for breakfast in the morning. If bringing a car, just beware that it can be tricky to find a spot near the house to parallel park.

Gorgeous little house in the Avenues, quiet neighbourhood. Good value, bus to New Theatre from the end of the street gets you there in 5 mins. Friendly, accomodating host

Wonderful stay in lovely front bedroom. Very quiet street just off the vibrant Newlands Avenue packed with restaurants, takeaways, a few bars and lots of shops and the classier Avenues.
Communication was superb throughout but not intrusive. Will definitely stay here again if anyone is foolish enough to cadt me again in the area 😎

Spotlessly clean digs with everything you need. A peaceful space for those looking for somewhere to relax. Bed extremely comfortable, Teresa was very concise and specific in her communications which made my arrival and check out super easy! A brisk 35 min walk to New Theatre which you may not fancy late at night. Great area with lots of gyms and shops a walk away. A lovely stay and would stay again for sure!

I stayed here for just over 4 weeks over the festive period while I was on a panto contract and couldn’t have asked for better!
Teresa was very helpful and a lovely person to be hosted by, I appreciated her asking before doing room cleans and times for heating to go in and off.
The house is a lovely modern cosy place to call base with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room. There was also cereal and tea/coffee available for me to use which was a lovely touch.
I will definitely be back!

It’s a lovely large double room, it’s a 15min drive from the theatre and 20 with traffic so leave with time to spare. Good facilities and space

These digs are comfortable and clean and the room is very nice - the bed is especially comfortable. Teresa's communication was prompt and helpful. Lot's of good eateries close by. I would definitely stay again if ever back in Hull. Highly recommended
