Immaculate room with a view, only wish I could have stayed here much longer. Plenty of room in both the room and the bathroom had a lovely bath and shower! The hosts were very respectful and we were like passing ships so I didn't really get to communicate much. The walk to town is a 25min downhill walk! - But ubers and taxis are very affordable and theres also dott bikes to hire. Lots to see and do here on your travel day should you wish. Parking was also not a problem in the layby nearby.

I had a lovely experience with Poppy. She put me in a newly decorated room which was very clean and the mattress super comfortable. The house is well kept, you can see they care. The host always stopped for a chat which I appreciate very much and they offered multiple time to give me a lift. Even if the house is on top of the hill, I didn't have any issue walking up and down. If you have luggage, you can call a taxi which is about £8-10 from the station. Would recommend!

Loved staying with Poppy. Such a beautiful home and beautiful people. Walk to work is fine the walk back up is long. Bus takes you most of the way and taxis are cheap. If you’re in the tech crew after a get out ask stage door to organise a cab to pay in cash. Uber/Bolt/Veesu really hard to book and a 40 minute walk up hill is not the one. Absolutely lovely place to stay would stay again. Poppy is amazing.

I had a wonderful stay with poppy and co, very friendly hosts, made me feel very welcome and the room was very comfortable. The hill is a bit of a challenge, but it's good cardio, and there's always the 31 bus, which is often early. I will look forward to returning in a few weeks 😊

I had a lovely week staying with Poppy. The hill is steep but it was quite nice to unwind while walking up each night but Taxis are fairly cheap if it’s too much. I would stay again when I’m back in Bath.

Loved staying with Poppy, Chris and Darcy. Felt like a true home away from home. And Poppy and Chris are true Theatre lovers. Loads of chats about the business and shows and actors we love. Their place is a hike up AND down which I absolutely loved. Great way to soak in the peace and quiet while looking at the stunning view of Bath. Will come back when able for sure!

I had the most wonderful stay for 6 weeks. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Bath if they want a comfortable home with easy access into the town (30min stunning walk straight down the hill). I stayed in the yellow room, it was very spacious, didn't have a wardrobe but it had a rail with plenty of hanger space and a set of chest of drawers. Poppy is very approachable and helpful with any problems you may have. If you're a dog lover, this is the place for you!

Absolutely loved my time in Bath - Poppy was an excellent host who is extremely generous and friendly. Darcy, the dog, is also an absolute sweetheart - Cannot recommend enough. Walking to the theatre, downhill was easy but had to taxi back as it was quite intense uphill. I’d jump at the chance to stay if I’m back this way in future.

Wonderful stay in Poppy’s beautiful home! Hosts were welcoming and friendly. I had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable and homely. Definitely recommend if you have a car as you can park it on the road. A great walk in but opted for a cab home - the hill is mammoth!

I loved staying at Poppy's! Great house, friendly hosts, gorgeous dogs, free street parking....I would definitely stay again! It felt like a proper home and I slept very well. As other people have said, the walk home is a beast. I did it once and never again. Taxis the rest of the week (cheap). But it didn't affect my stay at all! Thanks Poppy!

Comfy bed, nice room, shower is great. I barely saw Poppy but she seemed really lovely. Two gorgeous dogs! Pretty but steep 20/25 minute walk downhill to the theatre. We taxied back, about £6. Best for someone with a car but still a lovely stay!

She has a great knowledge of the area and a genuine interest in the theatre.

Was working in Bristol at the hippodrome and commuted from Poppy’s place, which took about half hour not in rush hour! SO worth it and im so pleased I chose to do that as poppy and Chris (and two gorgeous dogs) was an absolute delight to stay with!

Really lovely digs. Poppy friendly and helpful. I was in Yellow room and looked like a boutique hotel room - brilliantly furnished and comfiest bed I've had in a digs. Good wifi too. Up a hill but bit of exercise or v cheap cab ride.

Had a lovely stay with Poppy & her husband! Both really chatty and helpful. The room was perfect- very comfy bed and very clean, great to have a TV too. The walk down the hill to the theatre is very doable, but I did get a taxi back every night (£7)

Beautiful house, comfortable bed and a friendly family, a home away from home. It is a bit bit of steep walk which is good for the body and soul on those late nights. It was easy to get a taxi about 8 pounds from Theatre Royal Bath.

Poppy and Chris are Lovely Friendly Hosts. They completely understand the needs of performers on tour and these digs are spot on.

25 min walk into town walking downhill, longer walking up but the taxi of an evening was just £6.

I had a lovely stay with Poppy. Such warm and welcoming hosts. Has everything you could need; a comfortable room, great bathroom and kind hospitality. I would definitely stay again. Walk into town is lovely and a bus to get back up the hill.

Really great place to stay in bath. Clean and friendly house, highly recommended. The walk to centre town is doable, however can feel difficult at the end of a long performing day. Cab may be needed.

Staying with Poppy was an absolute pleasure. The double room was clean and comfy in every respect and Poppy and her husband were extremely welcoming, even giving us a lift into town when our schedules aligned. I would definitely stay again.

Rooms were all very good and spacious.

Walk down the hill very easy but the walk back up less so!

One of the finest digs in the country!

Honestly couldn't have been made more welcome or comfortable. Nice size room.

The location is very peaceful, don't let the hill put you off it's a good work out or a taxi really isn't going to break the bank.

Looking forward to staying again.

Poppy's place was brilliant :) lovely home, lovely family, and a lovely area!

Me and my friend stayed there, lovely big room each, and we could leave our cars parked safe the whole week and then walk into the town which was 15 minutes and easy to find the theatre!

Poppy's husband kindly showed us round in his car the first day, we did get a taxi back after our shows though because it was 40 minutes walk up hill! If you're a fan of exercise then that's ideal!

The cost was so reasonable and Bath is lovely, so we had a great week!

Excellent digs!!

A lovely, clean home, with very friendly, welcoming hosts.
I'm not usually comfortable with dogs but absolutely fell in love with the two dogs here!

The walk to the theatre is about 20-30 mins down a steep hill, but It's quite refreshing on a nice day and a taxi is only £5.

Would definitely stay again!

The house is lovely and the rooms are a great size!

I had a fantastic experience at Poppy's Pad. They were lovely, welcoming and accommodating hosts. I stayed for two weeks with three other people from my cast and we all had a great time.

The house is beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great!

They make you feel at home so I was happy to cook food, make cups of tea and do laundry.

The house is on a steep hill but it is walkable and taxi journeys are only £6/£7 from the Theatre Royal. Plus they kindly gave us several lifts into town.

Would highly recommend these digs!

I had a really comfortable stay at Poppy's. The house is spacious and clean and I even took advantage of breakfast on the outside terrace.

The hill is most definitely steep but not a long walk to and from the theatre (about20/30 minutes) and even late at night it feels really safe.

The dogs are incredibly friendly, but if you're not keen Poppy will keep them out of your way.

Fantastic theatre digs from people who know & understand the business.

Would certainly stay again, even without transport as it's easy enough to take a twenty five minute walk or less & they were kind enough to offer lifts occasionally.

Completely agree with the previous two reviews.
The walk into town is great and the walk home great exercise.
Lovely calf muscles by the end of my two week stay! £6/£7 Taxi ride home if you don't need the exercise, which was nearly always shared.
Poppy and Chris and family are friendly, great hosts.
Allowing full use of facilities but well aware of the need for privacy.
Frodo the excitable dog is a hoot!

Poppy and family are hugely welcoming but also sensitive to those who need privacy.
A lovely, clean home where you feel genuinely welcome to use all the facilities freely.
A fairly busy household often with other lodgers as they have three rooms on offer plus a very friendly dog but it's generally quiet and there's absolutely no traffic noise.
Location itself is lovely but a bit isolated (few local amenities) and it it is a fairly steep 20 minute up hill walk back from the theatre which may not suit everyone - but it is a beautiful walk and feels very safe so certainly not a problem for those who enjoy a bit of fresh air and exercise at the end of the day.
I'd certainly prefer to walk 20 minutes to a home I feel welcome in rather than stay somewhere closer and less friendly.
I wouldn't think twice about recommending this place and would certainly book to go back myself.
