Peaceful double room in bright, book filled, elegant flat (Edinburgh)

Peaceful double room in a traditional 19th Century tenement flat on a quiet street in central Edinburgh.

The flat is comfortably furnished, full of light with high ceilings and big windows (double glazed), has central heating, a cat, and is full of books.

Your room has a comfy bed, a black-out blind, a desk and a lock (if you need it). The kitchen is shared with me and is fully equipped - with a lovely table overlooking the bowling green. The bathroom is a typical tenement bathroom (small!) with a bath, shower and basin. Towels and bedding provided.

It's a great location for the Playhouse (5 mins walk) but also easily walk-able to the Festival Theatre (20 mins), Traverse and Lyceum (40 mins). There are also great local bus links to all of these venues from a stop 2 minutes from the flat.

The Hillside area has a real "local" feel with a park at the bottom of the road, a bakery and coffee shops, a Co-Op and a pharmacy 5 mins away on Easter Road. Slightly further afield (15 mins) is an excellent Sainsbury's - never mind all the shopping Edinburgh has to offer at the recently re-opened St James and Prince's Street.

Smudge the cat also lives here - she's a 15 year old, rather overweight rescue tuxedo and is very quiet and generally shy. She's on hand to give hard stares and disproving looks - and if you're lucky, she'll maybe let you stroke her (and she'll reward you with the loudest purr...)
