Living with Host

What does this mean?

Spacious, tranquil, welcoming double room with blackout curtains and (usually) private bathroom with bath and shower in a large traditional Victorian house. Use of kitchen and garden.

We have two affectionate young cats who mostly hang out in the ground floor kitchen. We keep them out of most other rooms because we have a very likeable, but very allergic son in law!

Guests have use of the large kitchen/dining area, garden and piano. The guest room is secluded at the top of the house (two flights of stairs) providing guests with privacy, peace and a view across the city.

There are a variety of shops and restaurants, cafes etc within minutes of the front door.

We don't do Airbnb or holiday lets. We only let to theatre professionals and we try to provide whatever is required to accommodate your need

The Area and Transport

Your digs are five minutes walk from Bellgrove train station at the heart of Dennistoun Conservation area, 20 minutes walk from the city centre.

Our house is in a quiet residential street , but only minutes walk from a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and transport options all over the city.

Bellgrove train station is one stop from the High Street Station (City Halls, the Old Fruitmarket, the Tron Theatre), two stops from Queen Street Station (Theatre Royal, the Pavillion, the Royal Concert Hall, the Royal Conservatoire) and three stops from Charing Cross Station (King's Theatre, Glasgow Film Theatre).

All rooms have lockable doors and the bathroom is for the guest's exclusive use unless stated otherwise during the booking process. The kitchen may be used by guests. There is also a piano and a garden which is available for guests.

Other rules

We're a home, not a hotel. We now have to include rules here to conform to theatredigs rules. We have found that mutual commonsense, courtesy and kindness works with most people.

You are welcome to vape and smoke in our back garden.

For security reasons we can't have additional unknown guests/visitors, so talk to us first if that's a possibility. We have happily been able to accommodate extra friends and family if we have notice.

Our check in/out times are flexible. Ask for what you need and we'll try and make it work.

I had such a great stay with Elaine and Robert, and the kitties!! Super friendly hosts, spacious home and very comfortable bedroom with own bathroom. Easy transport links or a 30min walk to Pavilion theatre. You can also use one of the rooms for vocal warm up etc!
Highly recommended and will definitely stay again! 😃
