Living with Host
I have two comfortable, well appointed double bedrooms that can be separately rented in my well-maintained Victorian terraced home. Do take take a look at the photo gallery - each room is labelled for easy identification - and please check all the features described below.

Guests have exclusive use of the principal bathroom in the house, but are free to use either, as they choose.
Partners & Spouses are normally welcome to visit for pre-booked single nights at no additional charge.
Guest Parking
On-street car parking is normally available, and is free to all-comers. I can safely accommodate visitors' bicycles, but please let me know in advance.
Car parking in central Northampton is strictly regulated, and not free. Guests are advised to walk or use public transport, while in the town.
The Area and Transport
Northampton is an old historic place - rammed with more than a fair share of cultural, recreational, and relaxing things to do.
My home is just 1 mile from the Northampton theatres and is close to one of the main roads into central Northampton. The mainline station is just 1.5 miles away.
Buses are frequent & e-scooters easy to hire. Taxis, mini-cabs, and Ubers are plentiful. I have a Visitors' Pack ready to guide you to the sights and attractions in and around town.
The nearby Wellingborough Road is crammed with pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops for all daily needs, with a vast Victorian park is less than half a mile away if you prefer the quieter side of life.

This space is shared with 1 Host and 1 other paying Guest.
The house is a large Victorian terraced house with four bedrooms. The house has been significantly, but sympathetically modernised and improved in recent years.
Guest bedrooms have lockable doors and each bedroom is equipped with a fridge, hot drink facilities, crockery and cutlery. Both rooms are equipped with all sorts of 'stuff' to make your stay more comfortable and to get the things done you need to do while you're away from home.
The two guest bedrooms have exclusive use of the first floor master bathroom, at all times. Guest have shared use of all the public rooms in the house - sitting room, dining room, kitchen & utilities, and the well maintained garden.
Guests are very welcome to use the laundry facilities in the house (washing and drying) - subject only to a frequency limit.

Great digs in Northampton. would stop here again. only slight down side is the available parking is on street so can be lacking at night after returning to work - This been said I could always find some.

This was my first ever time using theatre digs and I was blown away. Paul’s attention to detail and hosting was second to none, I was given a level of care that was of exceptional standard. Everything was provided, I felt welcomed and still was given my privacy. I chose this place after being recommended from other cast members in my company who also sung his praises. Zero complaints, highly recommend to all.

An excellent stay in Paul’s lovely house. Great communication and fantastic hospitality. I ended up staying one less evening at relatively short notice and Paul very kindly adjusted the price. Very comfortable room with great facilities. Strong recommend.

A meticulous attention to detail led to an interesting and inspiring stay. I am completely inspired by Paul's approach to home and life. Every detail has been thought about and organised. A pleasant stay based on a thorough understanding of the environment that we were in. I hope one day I can emulate his clean and well-kept home and life. Probably the best digs you could have in Northampton. Paul is a very welcoming host.
A lovely big room with an armchair (very important to me) a smart tv and your own fridge. Your own bathroom is just outside your door. As an added bonus Paul left a delicious meal out every night. I’ll definitely be staying again 😁

Paul is an absolute gem. The home is beautiful, comfy and clean. The room is large and has its own fridge and hot drink station, which is great. Also, blackout curtains are an excellent bonus. Paul is an absolute font of knowledge, both local and general, and an excellent chef to boot. Highly recommend staying with Paul if you're in the area!

A truly wonderful stay! Paul went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after. If I'm ever back in Northampton, I will definitely be visiting again. A lovely clean room with a fridge, kettle, plenty of privacy (you can lock your room door), everything has been wonderfully thought out. Thanks so much Paul! :)

Well, above all it was good fun. Thank you for your kind words - it's a pleasure to earn my living by helping actors to give their best each night.
I had such a comfortable stay here at Paul's! Paul is very welcoming - thank you so much for cooking a delicious meal on my last night! I was able to have the bathroom all to myself as the other guest room was unoccupied, there was tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. All the personal touches were hugely appreciated as well. I would absolutely stay again!

Clean and pleasant room, i had the basement. Easy access to the theatre. Good value for your stay. Paul likes the theatre so if you can share a poster of your show and sign it. He will be very greatful. If you enjoy some interaction with your host. This place will suot you. Thanks Paul

Paul has been splendid, I was put into a sporadic situation where I needed to find accomedation during the run of "Annie", talk about landing on my feet, Paul is a gent, very welcoming environment, flexible accomedations, clean, lovely person to talk to, his history accomedating proffesionals in the industry showed, and in general, I felt welcomed and safe staying there. Plenty of locals bus links and amenities to.
I wish Paul the very beat, I would happily stay here again.

I stayed with Paul for 6 weeks during panto. Everything you could possibly need during your stay away from home is provided; you also get exclusive use to the bathroom closest to you. He is also a great cook! I had a great time in Northampton, and in digs that exceeded my expectations.

Brilliant weeks stay with Paul, it's such a lovely home great size and had everything I needed.
I Was lucky enough to even sample some of Pauls cooking which was outstanding! And the theatres a short walk away.
He’s a great host and I'd definitely to stay again when visiting the Royal & Derngate!

Great accommodation. About 20 minute walk to the theatre and the gym. There is a Sainsbury’s and Tesco just down the road.
Had use of own bathroom, and the room came with a fridge which was super helpful!
Only issue was that the wifi didn’t work a couple days.

Annabel, it was a pleasure to host your visit and thank you for the 4 & 5 stars billing. It's a pity that you didn't mention the wi-fi problem to me while you were here, so that I could have attempted to put it right. The Welcome! leaflet you received on arrival makes it clear that my house is terraced with sold Victorian walls and I know it can be flakey at times. Which is why, during the time that you were here I was measuring the wi-fi speed around the house!
Once again an incredible week!! Lovely room with a nice easy walk to the theatre!! And let’s not forget the incredible food!! Thank you for a great week and hope to see you again!

Paul was a wonderful host. Good location. Great cook! Really looked after me and my theatre colleague who also stayed there. Came home to a hot meal every evening. Felt totally welcome and at home. "Promise to try the kippers next time for sure!"

The best digs I've ever had - hands down.
Paul is a wonderful host (always take him up on the offer of dinner if you can, he's a FANTASTIC cook)
Was here for 5 weeks over Xmas for panto at Derngate, and it felt like home instantly.

one of the best digs I have ever been in. easy walk to the theatre with shops very close by. Paul is incredibly friendly and a good chat but the crowning glory has to be his cooking which was just incredible. Thanks again for an amazing week

Couldn't fault my stay with Paul, it's a lovely home and my room (downstairs) was a great size and had everything I needed. Was lucky enough to even sample some of Pauls cooking which was an added bonus! He's a great host and I'd love to stay again!

Paul is the perfect host!! Warm, friendly and chatty. He’s also an excellent cook. The basement room was a good size and nice & private. An easy 1 mile walk to theatre. 10/10.

So kind! It's House Rules never to review guests. (What goes on tour, stays on tour!) . Suffice to say you will always be welcome back, and thanks to all three of you for breaking my Covid duck - full fives just makes a great start to a new chapter!
Paul was a great host. The accommodation was very clean and tidy and not too far from the theatre. Paul even provided dinner to take into the theatre, which was very welcomed.

professional and accommodating landlord, eager to please and even cooks delicious meals to share and give him company. Quiet street and reasonable distance to walk but it is along a busy and not particularly pleasant road in places.

Thanks Blair. It's inevitable in most towns and cities that the closer digs are to the theatres & halls that we serve, the more likely that guests will have to walk along such roads as the Wellingborough Road to get home in the evening!
Great place to stay. Paul is a very good host and makes you feel right at home. Paul’s cooking is excellent and I really appreciated being able to take food to work with me. Thank you.

Had a nice to stay at Paul's house which is a lovely house. Great room with great bed! Paul was really accommodating with my bike, I didn't feel mega welcome to cook in the kitchen if i'm honest but all good in all +++

Thank you. When you get a perfect review from a Yorkshireman, you know a high bar has been met! So it's very gratifying. I don't ever review guests as a policy (What goes on tour, stays on tour!) but you will always get a warm welcome here.
I've had a wonderful stay with Paul, the house has been very recently refurbished, and so the facilities are pristine. He is a very warm and generous host, his home cooking is delicious! I'd highly recommend, and would hope to return in the future.

Possibly the best digs I’ve ever stayed in! Paul was a great host and I very much felt at home! It was also rather lovely to come home to a cooked meal - so thank you, Paul! I hope to stay again!!

I cannot speak highly enough of these digs. Private, quiet, great wi-if, lovely private bathroom. Paul is a top bloke, an excellent host and an excellent cook!! You'll want for nothing. Great digs to relax in. And a very easy walk to work. Superb.

A lovely room in a beautiful house with great facilities and a private bathroom. Paul is more than just someone who lets out a room, he enjoys the whole experience of having a guest and providing food and drink for your entire stay.

Wonderful welcoming digs. Paul is a lovely friendly host who provides everything you need (and even cooked me a very good breakfast one morning!). Be careful walking around alone at night on the surrounding streets, but generally good location.

Good digs, a long walk in and taxi back but quiet and Paul was friendly and helpful.

Not a bad thing to say about these digs.
Room is spacious, big comfy bed and black out blinds (great where you're on show call) Private bathroom and use of house facilities including sitting room.
I would 100% stay here again.
