Living with Host

What does this mean?

Established digs provider with excellent reputation.
Nicely furnished, comfortable single bedroom (spring & memory foam mattress); WiFi, hairdryer, bathrobe etc. - in a well-appointed, secure 1st floor apartment. Conveniently, the bedroom is directly opposite the bathroom.
The accommodation is near to many theatres. The Opera House is 10 minutes’ walk; the Royal Exchange15 minutes and the Palace Theatre 15/20 minutes - all through the well lit city centre. A nearby bus takes you directly to the Lowry Theatres and Media City in 15/20 minutes. I've had people stay who are working at Hope Mill Theatre. It's not too near to me but a free bus service can take you much nearer.
The apartment is shared with a retired, Gay business man. In addition to bedrooms, the apartment consists of sitting room (with Sky TV including Sky & TNT Sport, Netflix, Prime etc); separate dining room; bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. The kitchen is well equipped leading onto a covered balcony

Guest Parking

I can occasionally provide 1 or 2 weeks free parking in our private Square but usually not for longer periods. it must be requested upon booking, please. Unfortunately, available parking spaces are becoming even rarer but it is worth asking me - maybe in advance of a booking.

The Area and Transport

I'm a long, established theatre digs host, always receiving 5**** reviews. I only host theatre professionals and am not an AirBnB etc. I'm told by guests that I could charge more, especially as I'm conveniently located to venues. However, I deliberately charge a low fee (£100 pw) to enable guests to easily live on their subsistence payments and enjoy their stay in Manchester.

It is a 10 minute walk to the Opera House, 15 minutes to the Royal Exchange and 20 minutes to the Palace Theatre. These are the genuine times and through well lit city centre streets.

If your working at The Lowry, the BBC or ITV in Salford Quays, then the No 50 bus leaves from near my home (3 minutes walk) and terminates there - journey time between 15 and 25 minutes depending whether it's rush hour! My location gives you the advantage of being in the City (restaurants, bars, clubs, museums etc) but with easy access to the Quays

My apartment is shared with my guests. As I am retired and my time is flexible, I work with my guests to ensure that the bathroom and kitchen is available for their use.
For those who want to eat at a table, my dining room is available. Some guests have used it for Zoom calls etc.
After an evening working, a lot of my guests like to use the living room as I have lots of features on my Sky Glass TV - sports, Netflix, Prime etc along with all the streaming options BBC iPlayer etc.
