Living with Host

What does this mean?

The room is a light and airy loft room with en suite shower and loo. It has a double bed, drawer and hanging space and a desk. The house, originally a railway cottage, is at the end of a terrace and has three bedrooms. You are welcome to use the kitchen unless I’m cooking for lots of people but I’m fairly flexible. There’s a washing machine which you’re welcome to use but no dryer. Clothes can be dried on a washing line in the garden or on a drying rack in your room.

I occasionally have small grandchildren to stay but rarely when I have theatre guests.

Although I have no pets myself, I sometimes have my daughter’s dog to stay.

I would rather have guests for a full week (5 days plus), however, I’m happy for guests to book by the night (minimum 2 nights), It is possible to book as a couple but it is strictly by negotiation. .

Guest Parking

There is no parking but you can try the Just Park app as I know there are spaces near by.

The Area and Transport

The house is in central Oxford 5 mins walk from the railway station and about 15 mins walk from the centre of town, the Oxford Playhouse and the New theatres.

This space is not shared with anyone else.

Your room has an en suite shower and loo. You are welcome to use the kitchen when I’m not cooking but I’m fairly flexible. There’s shelf and a space in the fridge. You can help yourself to tea and coffee at any time and to cereal, yoghurt, fruit bread etc for breakfast.

Excluded Facilities

The layout of the house means you walk through the sitting room to get to the kitchen. There a loo downstairs as well. Obviously the two other bedrooms and bathroom are not for guests’ use

I have no house rules. Im sure guests will appreciate this is my home and conduct themselves accordingly!

The arrival times between 14:00 and 20:00 applies to Sunday to allow enough time for preparing room after a guest leaves on Sunday morning. On other days arrival and departure times can be negotiated. As I’m near the station, guests sometimes want to drop off luggage early before going into the theatre. Please will guests contact me 24 hours prior to their booking to let me know approximate time of arrival. Many thanks.
