Self-Contained
Welcome to Little Knowle, our beautiful brand-new, self-contained annex, attached to our family home; it’s a peaceful, stylish home-from-home for theatre professionals.
With its own green front door beneath a Moroccan-tiled porch, Little Knowle offers privacy and independence, with friendly hosts close by if you need us. It is bright and airy, with Velux windows throughout, beautiful herringbone flooring and plenty of natural light. The bedroom/living space has a large double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dining table and two comfy chairs. The fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, breakfast bar and everything you need to cook and eat at home. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower.
Beautiful bifold doors open onto the shared patio, with its fire pit, waterfall and carp pond. You also have your own private walled patio, with a dining table and four chairs. A lovely home to relax, recharge and feel at home between performances.
Guest Parking
Guests have free off-road parking directly in front of the annex on our large private driveway. You can park immediately outside your accommodation, making arrival, unloading luggage and returning home after a late performance easy and convenient. There is no need to search for a public parking space or use a car park.
The Area and Transport
Our annex is in Bents Green, Ecclesall, a leafy and peaceful area of south-west Sheffield, close to the city and the Peak District. Regular buses from the corner of our road make it easy to reach Sheffield city centre and the theatres without a car.
Sheffield Theatres – the Crucible, Lyceum and Playhouse – are together around Tudor Square. The Montgomery Theatre is also nearby on Surrey Street. Local buses provide a straightforward journey into town, followed by a short walk to the theatres.
Local eateries, pubs, a Danish bakery and a small supermarket are all within around a five-minute walk.
We are on the edge of the Peak District, with local walks accessible directly from the house. Buses from the local area also provide access towards Chatsworth, Bakewell and Castleton, making it easy to explore the countryside on days off. It’s an ideal base for performers wanting a peaceful stay with easy access to Sheffield’s theatres and city centre.

This space is shared with 4 Hosts.
Little Knowle is a completely self-contained private annex, attached to our family home. Guests have their own lockable front door and exclusive use of the entire annex, including the bedroom/living area, fully equipped kitchen and private bathroom with large walk-in shower.
Guests also have their own private, walled patio, with a dining table and four chairs, for their exclusive use.
The main garden and garden patio are shared with us, the Hosts. Guests are welcome to enjoy these areas, including the fire pit, waterfall and carp pond.
We are a family home with two adult children, one currently at university and living in the main house, plus our two dogs. The dogs will never enter Little Knowle, although they may occasionally be in the shared garden.
There are no other guests or theatre workers sharing the annex.
Excluded Facilities
The main family house and its internal rooms are not available for Guest use. This includes the main kitchen, living areas, bedrooms and family bathroom.
The dogs will not have access to Little Knowle.
Guests have exclusive use of Little Knowle and the private walled patio, with the main garden and garden patio being the only shared outdoor spaces.

The apartment is accessible once inside as it is all on one floor. However, we do have a steepish driveway and a step onto the porch from the driveway and again into the apartment. Moreover, the driveway is cobbled but you can park reasonably close to the front door. There is also a step out into the garden. Please ask any questions before booking. We are more than happy to send photos.
