The property is semi-detached and dates from the 1870s. I bought it in 2018 when I re-located from SE London and it has been modernised and refurbished. The walls are very thick and this, combined with double-glazing throughout, means that the house is always warm and quiet.
The layout of the house affords a high degree of privacy, with accommodation spread across three floors. My rooms are on the second floor. The guest room is a large double on the first floor with king size bed, capacious wardrobe and reading light and chair. There is also a second room across the landing with a sofa (black with white check print in photo) which guests are free to use. On the first floor is also a large shared bathroom with corner bath, separate walk-in shower and a mirrored vanity unit above the sink for guests’ own use.
On the ground floor there is a modern kitchen, complete with dishwasher, induction hob and fan oven. There is also a fridge-freezer and separate space for food in one of the cupboards. Guests are free to use all kitchen utensils, cooking equipment and crockery. There is also the use of a dining room and living room. The room at the front of the house for my own use. There is free wi-fi throughout.
The garage houses a utility room with washer and dryer and provides access to the secluded garden, which includes a seating area and a rotary dryer. At the front of the house there is a double drive which provides off-street parking.
There is a Lidl and a (huge)Tesco’s Extra 10 mins walk from the house and the local (nicely modernised) leisure centre with well-equipped gym and pool is about 13 mins walk.
One of the reasons I bought the house is the proximity to the station, which has been very nicely done up and provides a good café bar. It is literally 3 mins walk and there is a regular service into Manchester which takes about 15 mins. Trains stop at both Deansgate (with tram interchange) and Oxford Rd, so all the main venues are within easy reach.
The weekly rental will be £65 including bills, payable in advance.
