Spacious en-suite double loft-room available in a relaxed family house roughly 15/20 minutes walk from the main theatres in Bristol.
I generally live alone but with frequent visits from one or other of my two sons – we are all quite relaxed. I'm an artist, also working in social care and education as and when, so am in and out at different times, while my sons are both musicians. There is not much pattern to our days.
The loft-room is nice and private with it's own staircase and small landing, and is spacious and airy, with two Velux windows overlooking the rooftops to the far-away Mendips. It has a large double bed, an easy chair, a radiator (with top-up oil-filled heater should it be necessary), lots of wardrobe and drawer storage, full-length mirror, wi-fi, ironing board/clothes airer, hangers, hair dryer, digital radio with ipod dock and also (for warmer days) a floor fan. There's tea and coffee making equipment, as well as a microwave oven and china etc in the room.
The bathroom/shower room is compact, with a full-length bath, rainstorm and directional showers, basin and loo. The ensuite is built into the eaves so has restricted head room above the loo – last guy I had staying was 5ft 10'' and didn't even consider any headroom issue but I'm just saying - if you're 6ft + it might be an issue.
Towels are provided plus 2 sets of bedlinen and extra duvet and pillows as necessary..
Basic breakfast things (cereal/toast etc) are for help-yourself sharing.
Shared areas include a dining room and living room, with TV/DVD/video, wifi, cd player and turntable plus lots of records/cds, open fire and woodburner, and double glazing throughout. Guests have shared use of the kitchen, with their own fridge-shelf and large pull out drawer. The kitchen has a microwave, a range cooker, an espresso machine, a fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher, as well as a slow cooker and numerous kitchen bits and pieces (come, spiralise courgettes with me...).
The local area is lively with pubs, restaurants and independent shops, also a Tesco Metro a couple of minutes walk and a 24 hour Asda a bit further but walkable. Lively as this sounds, the street is also quiet and 2 minutes walk to a lovely park, one of several great outdoor spaces nearby. It's about 15 minutes walk to the picturesque docks and town,15 mins to Templemeads train station,20 mins to Bristol Old Vic, 25 mins for Colston Hall and Tobacco Factory. There are also frequent local buses to all these places.
It's a non-smoking house but it's fine for people to smoke in the yarden.
