Living with Host

What does this mean?

We have 2 large double rooms available in our 5 bedroom detached Victorian property - a true home from home. Full use of our huge garden, kitchen and living spaces. Enjoy the peace of a safe, quiet residential area while being only a 10 minute drive from Llandudno's Venue Cymru theatre. Decent bus service too, which takes approx 30 mins.

We have 2 generous double rooms: Room 1 is shown in the pics with a blue wall & blinds; Room 2 has a grey wall with mustard colour bedding. There is a bathroom accessed by the landing, which is solely reserved for our theatre guests.

You are welcome to use our family kitchen / living space and we can always make room in the fridge / freezer / cupboards for you.

Our house is occupied by me (Catherine: mum, Air bnb host and vegan chef), and my older son Caeo, 23, who works in the hospitality team at the theatre. We also have Blue (dog) and Lola (cat) who have free range of the house.

Guest Parking

Free unrestricted parking outside our house. If travelling back and forth to the theatre by car, we can advise you about where you're most likely to find free spaces there too.

The Area and Transport

Our house is located on the outskirts of Colwyn Bay, a town approximately 5 miles from Llandudno (home to Venue Cymru, where most tours are based). Because Llandudno is a popular tourist location, our theatre guests can find that our digs are more affordable and peaceful than some of the centrally located options. In terms of transport, the easiest option is to come by car and make the 10 min trip in to the theatre. However it's also completely manageable by bus. It's a short 5 minute walk to the bus stop and there is a regular service which takes you right to the theatre in 25-30 mins. (my son works at the theatre and doesn't drive, so relies solely on the bus service)
If you have the time, our beautiful stretch of sandy beach is less than 15 mins walk away and we have a great variety of cafes, pubs and micro-breweries within easy walking distance. There's a Lidl supermarket a 5 min walk from our house and a large Asda within easy walking distance of the theatre.

This space is shared with 2 Hosts and 1 other paying Guest.

We offer 2 spare bedrooms for theatre professionals. These 2 bedrooms share their own bathroom (accessed via the communal landing). Bedrooms do not have locking doors, but apart from myself and my adult son, nobody else comes upstairs in the property.

Excluded Facilities

Guests have access to their own bathroom, so we ask that the family bathroom at the top of the stairs is left for family use only. We also have a downstairs loo if the guest bathroom happens to be in use.

We have Blue (8 year old spaniel / collie cross) and Lola (12 year old demanding tabby)

This household follows a strict dietary lifestyle

We have a vegan household, so although we allow guests to consume non-vegan foods here, we'd really appreciate it if you could make sure your food is kept well wrapped and in your allocated fridge drawer. Also please make sure you wash up thoroughly if you've cooked meat in our kitchen.

2nd time staying with the lovely Catherine and her gorgeous dog Blue. Catherine could not be more friendly or welcoming and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble for her. I stayed in the other room to last time and it was just as lovely. Great space, desk for working/writing, super comfy bed and big bathroom. I was a little cold in the room, but was provided a heater which was great. Location is fab as only 10 min walk to the beach and about 10 min drive (car is easiest) from Venue Cymru.
