Living with Host
Large double room in recently refurbished Edwardian house with large shower room and laundry room next door. These are the only rooms on this floor, so whoever stays there is completely independent of the rest of the house. The room has a king size bed, wardrobe, drawers, dressing table and black out blinds. There is a kettle, tea, coffee & milk in the room, but you are also welcome to use the main kitchen.
The house is quite quiet all the time, and therefore if you need to rehearse or do an online audition in the daytime, there is plenty of opportunity.
With being at the top of the house, the room is very quiet and traffic is generally slow as the road is quite short.
Guest Parking
There is on street parking only here, but we always manage to park either on the road here, or around the corner. You are welcome to bring a bike, and there is space at the back of the house to lock it outside in a locked garden.
The Area and Transport
5mins walk to Bearwood high street where there are 5 pubs, many restaurants and take out food places, as well as convenience stores and a large Aldi.
There is a very regular (every 9mins all day) direct bus route which takes just 20 minutes to the city centre. This goes straight to all the main theatres (from closest to furthest) Botanical Gardens, Crescent, Symphony Hall, Repertory, Town Hall, Old Joint Stock, Alexandra, Hippodrome. Bus services run until 11ish in the week, but until 1am at the weekend.

This space is shared with 2 Hosts.
The bedroom and shower room are lockable from the inside. The laundry is also in the shower room which is usable by us, the hosts, and you, the guest. We would never use the laundry room when a guest is in except for by prior agreement, and we ask you only to use it in the daytime.
The kitchen and garden are shared and available to both guests and hosts.
Excluded Facilities
The main bathroom and bedrooms on the first floor, and the lounge on the ground floor are not available to guests, except by prior agreement, for example to use to rehearse in the daytime.

Other rules
We have three house cats who are very present. We keep them locked out of the guest bedroom to reduce any allergies, but be aware that they are also nosy and may and come and see you! We provide bins in the rooms, please use them and empty into the main external bin weekly if you're staying longer. Due to Birmingham bin strikes we do not have any recycling available at the moment! We are not concerned about shoes downstairs where we have solid floors, but would rather shoes were not worn on the first and second floors.
We both work full time, I work for an IT company away from home or in my home office and my wife is a nurse at a local hospital. Due to this, please keep noise down after returning from shows as far as practicable

The house has recently been fully rewired, including wired smoke alarms. We also have the gas boiler tested every year and a carbon monoxide tester in the lounge (due to the woodburner)

A truly restful place to lay one's head. Very comfortable bed and exclusive use of the top floor bathroom made for a relaxing week, and Jane's excellent comms were super-helpful too. Recommended!

I had a lovely Stay with Jane. Great facilities with private bathroom which also contain a washer and dryer. Easy access to town and theatres on the bus which run late into the evening. I also enjoyed socialising with their 3 cats. Would definitely stay again.

I had a wonderful stay, such a cozy bedroom and an amazing bathroom to myself. A washer and dryer in the bathroom also was very convenient. Easy transport to the centre. I would absolutely stay here again!
