We have a beautiful building at the end of our garden. We use it as our office and studio space, but it is fully equipped accommodation too.
There is a bedroom with a wardrobe and desk. The bed can either be a double or two singles. It is quite low, which may not suit everyone.
The beds have electric blankets during the winter, and other blankets in the wardrobe for people who feel the cold. There are blackout curtains and voiles in both the bedroom and downstairs living space for privacy.
The shower room is next to the bedroom. There is a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and oven/hob with microwave.
Also downstairs is a living space with a sitting area and a table and chairs for eating. There is a hi-fi upstairs which you can access via Bluetooth. Wi-fi isn't the best, running as it does, off a mobile hotspot.
However, we live on site so you are welcome to come over to the house and use ours. The hot water and heating are electric, and we do have a wood burner too, which you can use subject to agreement with us.
Our office and studio are upstairs. However the space will be all yours, and we won't use it when you're in residence. You will be welcome to use it - it's very comfortable. It's a lovely space to kick back and relax. Or work too as it has extensive desk space. The 'shed' (as we call it) overlooks the garden as does our house, and the house we own next door where others in our little community live.
While there is no requirement to mix with any of us, we are generally very friendly, and especially in warm weather, apt to mix in the garden over some gardening or some food and wine. You won't be left out if you're feeling sociable! We have a dog called Jasper who lives in that house and is our most loved resident.
Access to the 'shed' is via a side gate so there is no need to worry about disturbing anyone, or being disturbed, during your stay.
The surrounding area is residential and quiet. On-street parking is free and there are shops, cafes and bus stops to the city centre within five minutes walk.
City centre locations like the New Theatre and the Millennium Stadium are 10 minutes by bus or a 40-minute walk. Chapter Arts Centre is a 15-minute walk. The Wales Millennium Centre is a 15-minute drive or can be accessed by bus via the city centre.
