Living with Host
Cosy attic haven! The house itself, a four-bedroom, Victorian terrace, is on the friendliest street and the double room available is on the top floor with both windows facing the beautiful street trees and is the only room with posh wallpaper!
You have your own bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. It is quite bright but an eye mask is available.
We will share the hand made kitchen with induction hob, fan oven, convection oven/microwave, dishwasher as well as the dining room and front room (Netflix, Apple). The laundry room, freezer and additional storage space is in the double cellar. You have access to the garden too (keys hanging by the door).
Tilly, my luxurious black cat companion, is shy and can be cuddly once she knows you. She mainly keeps to herself though.
Guest Parking
On street parking is free and generally quite safe though watch out for the birds - a hazard when you have such beautiful trees!
The Area and Transport
Nether Edge is a leafy suburb of Sheffield. There are many bus routes in easy walking distance that will drop you outside the theatre in 15ish minutes. It's also a lovely walk of about 30 minutes.
There are so many nice cafes - the Nether Edge Cafe is around the corner and has a bakery in the basement! Nether Edge Road has Cafe #9 and The Kollective which are fab too. There's a mini Sainsbury's five minutes downhill.
My neighbours are super friendly as well.

Lovely stay with Valerie who had great communication throughout. Attic room with private bathroom, around 40 minutes walk to the Lyceum Theatre. Lovely area with shops nearby. The room is quite bright in the mornings but we were in the middle of a heatwave! Recommended.

Thank you, Elli, for your kind words and being the easiest guest ever! Please do stay any time you are in Sheffield!
Lovely Digs with a large attic room and a very comfortable double bed.
Valerie was a great host - friendly, interesting, very easy to chat with, and helpful without being in any way intrusive. Perfect for a relaxing stay. The freshly ground coffee and milk steamer were also a nice bonus! I hope to stay again next time I’m visiting Sheffield.

Thank you, John! I so enjoyed your company as well. Finding a fellow coffee lover was great. You are welcome back anytime.
I had a wonderful stay at Valeries home, Tilly the cat kept me company. Journey into the theatre and town was easy, just a short bus ride and my living area upstairs was perfect with a separate bathroom.

Dear David, Tilly misses you! Thank you for taking such good care of her and for being a perfect houseguest. Everything was immaculate when I returned. I hope you come again when I’m here so we can meet.
Superb digs, lovely hosts and complete with adorable cat Tilly. Valerie and Ted are very welcoming into their home. Warm, cosy and relaxing. Regular buses for Sheffield theatres, local shops in a very quiet area. Loved staying here and would highly recommend staying here. Thank you both.

Aw, Paul you are welcome anytime! It was great having you stay at mine!
Nice house in a good location. You can walk into the Lyceum but a weekly bus ticket is a good cheap alternative. Great communicative host, good value and would definitely look to book again

Valerie was a great & friendly host - who welcomed you into their family home.
The accommodation was lovely but was slightly out of the city centre - bus in & uber back.

I look forward to your Sheffield return, Cordelia! Wishing you the very best. 😊
A delight to stay with charming, generous and wise Valerie in her beautiful tranquil attic room. So kind to accommodate and provide for both myself, and my bike that ate up the journey to and from the Lyceum.
There is a cat, Tilly, who resisted my overtures of friendliness until I was given feeding authority! Now I miss her.
Heartily recommended.

This was my most favourite digs so far! I loved everything about my stay! It’s a gorgeous room, with its own little bathroom and the house is so welcoming ... including a very friendly and loving cat. The area is amazing with coffee shops where you can get to know the locals and the walk into the theatre was really pretty and easy to do! I’ll book again next time I’m in Sheffield without a doubt! Thank you for being so wonderful Valerie!!! You are an absolute gem X

Comfy attic room at top of a lovely colourful, Victorian house with your own shower and loo. A bus to the theatres. I took Ubers. Valerie is the kindest, most welcoming host who has worked in the theatre What chats we had! I’ve found a new friend

My stay with Valerie was fantastic and I would 100% stay again! I sometimes opted to walk 45mins to the Lyceum but the bus routes are also more than sufficient. The only problem is that the bedroom door no longer shuts fully which isn't always ideal!
29th Nov 2022
Thanks Emmy! The door is now sorted and thank you for being so understanding about it!
Absolutely loved staying at Valerie's house, she is so friendly and kind. I would stay with her again in the future. The room and house were very clean and tidy. Her cat Tilly is very lovely too :)
