On your arrival day, and free of charge, I will collect you from your arrival point here in Stoke, and if this is your first visit to the Regent Theatre, I will give you a guided tour, pointing out places of interest on the way of the lovely Sunny Stoke on Trent, so you will at least be familiar with your daily route.
The property is an easy 15 minute walk up in to Hanley town centre where the Regent Theatre is, the main railway and bus station are the same distance away. The price includes a Light Help Yourself Breakfast, consisting of your choice of Cereal, Milk, Bread for Toast, Lurpack Butter, Fruit Juice, as much Tea or Coffee as you prefer.
My most famous of lodger so far JULY 2017, was Actress SHIRLEY ANNE FIELD. What a pleasure and a privilege it was to have her stay with me, but sadly she was unable to leave a review as she was not the originator of the booking :-( SADLY DIED 10th DECEMBER 2023. She will be sadly missed. R.I.P
PLEASE READ TO THE VERY END
A very quite and relaxed atmosphere awaits you in a larger than average terraced house. The well maintained and modern interior is a 2 bedroomed property. A brief HISTORY, The house was built in 1895, yes1895, and the deeds show that the first family to ever live here in 1895, ( then only a 2 up 2 down property in those days, no kitchen no bathroom, was a family of 9, Father, Mother, and 7 children.) so there are few creaky floorboards, but at that age we would all have a few creaks to talk about. The property is in a quiet residential street with free ample on street parking. however, it cannot be reserved or guaranteed, there is woodland to the rear of the property. Throughout the house is double glazing and central heating with thermostatic controlled radiators in every room, and for your safety, there is emergency lighting throughout the house, there are smoke, heat, and Co2 sensors installed throughout plus fire extinguishers and fire blanket. The bathroom has a large walk in rain shower, sorry NO bath. The property has a 24 hour recording CCTV system covering the front and the rear of the property including the living room.
The room for rent is a lockable double bedroom,13 feet square in size, with a very comfy double bed so previous guests have informed me, ideal for couples touring together,(double occupancy £180 per week ). For hygiene purposes the bed has a mattress protector and the pillows also have protectors. Towels and bedding are provided, for those who like an extra warm bed during the winter months, there is an electric blanket.
There is ample drawer and wardrobe space. a 32" flat screen Free View TV/Radio/CD Player. The room has blackout curtains and also a blackout roller blind, desk mirror by the window, plus a full length fixed wall mirror, plus remote controlled lamps and floor standing fan, there is a small fold away table, Hairdryer and Shaver/Toothbrush socket, also a secured fixed metal lockable box for your personal items, and you will have the only key to it, plus the use of FREE Wi-Fi, connection via BT. There are also USB charging points for both phone and tablets either side of the bed. Being a terraced house, the bathroom and toilet are downstairs at the end of the property and is accessed through the main lounge area, so if you are a shy person, a dressing gown would be handy. The bathroom comprises a large walk in rain shower, with a secondary attached jet shower, non slip mat, and if required a non slip rubber mat for inside the shower area, sink, and a flat screen TV/Radio. Don't worry should you have forgotten your bathroom toiletries, I have emergency complimentary packs containing toothbrush and toothpaste, and if required, I can provide you with an eye mask and earplugs, so please feel free to ask me for anyone of these items.
You would be sharing the house with me Jeff. I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as @ the 23rd April 24 and also against FLU, and a non smoker. I am a retired N.H.S Health Care Support Worker and I am a very easy going person and as quite as a church mouse. There are no pets and never have been any and sorry to say, pets are not allowed. Smoking is only allowed in the yard, where there is a table and two chairs and for any rainy days, I have both small and large umbrella's by the back door and the front door for your to use use.
During your stay, my home, is your home, and you have FULL use of the house, and if you prefer, you don’t have to sit in your room to watch TV or have your meals. The lounge has a 50" flat screen TV and programs are via Free Sat. The kitchen comprises a gas hob and electric oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, (no charge for detergent), plus a flat screen TV. and you are welcome to have as much toast, tea, and coffee as you wish during your stay.
Within a few minutes walk away from the property, you will find four supermarkets. Asda, Lidl, Aldi ,open till 10pm, and a corner shop type Morrisons open until 11pm. Also nearby there is a Popeye's and a Foodz 999 fast food takeaways, Domino Pizza, a Pure gym (no pool), a MacDonalds and Just over a 12 minute walk away there is a Municipal Fitness Centre with Olympic sized pool.
CONDITION OF BOOKING AND I ONLY HAVE ONE HOUSE RULE
A weeks stay is from Monday to Saturday inclusive. Please Note, Payment for the balance owing must be paid in full on your arrival, or by Friday if agreed, either in cash or bank transfer, sorry no cheques, a receipt will be issued if requested. If you wish to arrive on Sunday there is no extra charge. However, the room would not be available until after 3 pm, and the room would have to be vacated on the following Sunday by 12 pm, but could be extended if know body is following you in. I only have one house rule. PLEASE, PLEASE, DONT BANG ANY DOORS when entering or leaving the house, Your cooperation, and consideration, is very much appreciated both by me, and my immediate neighbours :-)
TAXI SERVICE, DIGS DOOR TO STAGE DOOR, AND RETURN
Should you wish, and for a one off payment of £25 per week, I will take you each day to the theatre and collect you again in the evening, latest collection time would be at midnight, and is within a 1 mile radius of the theatre.
PLEASE NOTE
Visitors are allowed, but should they wish to stay over night, there would be a charge of £35 and would get the use of your breakfast choice.
