Living with Host

What does this mean?

Each of the double rooms is at the top of a semi-detached 3 storey house (x 40 stairs to reach the rooms). You have access to the use of quiet garden and full use of kitchen and living areas. Shared bathroom on floor below with walk in shower. In walking distance to all theatres in safe central area of city with local shops, cafes and restaurants near-by. Resident dog so not suitable for anyone with fur allergy.

Guest Parking

Parking in town is resident or meter parking only but there are apps you can use to borrow a driveway or garage nearby. Free on-street parking is about 3 blocks away

The Area and Transport

Georgian family home with a garden and resident dog. We are a 25 min walk from Haymarket or Waverley station. We also live near lovely parks so it's an attractive walk across the Meadows or Links to most venues: the Festival Theatre, Usher Hall, Queens Hall, Lyceum etc. The Playhouse is further but still only 35mins walk or a bus ride away.

Please note that for all bookings from 24th July 2026 there will be an additional Edinburgh Council Visitor Levy of 5% on the first 5 nights of any stay to abide by the new Council law.

This space is shared with 2 Hosts and 2 other paying Guests.

Guest bedrooms are at the top of the house and the bathroom shared with 1 or 2 other guest is on the floor below with a sink, shower and loo. There is another seperate loo on the ground floor. You are welcome to use the kitchen/dining room and we leave room a cupboard and fridge for your food.

I loved staying with Charlotte, beautiful digs and so welcoming. I personally felt safe walking back each night from the playhouse, lovely easy trip, but a cheap uber too. Would absolutely stay again x
