Living with Host

What does this mean?

The entire second floor of our Victorian terrace house is available to rent. It is like it’s own flat - it has a double bedroom, a sitting room with a sofa, bathroom with a shower, TV and WiFi. It is bright, airy, with lovely views across Bristol and lots of privacy.

Guest Parking

There is permit parking on the street. It costs £1 a day. There is also free parking a 10 minute walk away. If you are leaving your car for long periods, we would prefer that you park it in the free parking area as we are only given a limited number of passes. But with short stays permits are fine.

The Area and Transport

The house is 20 minutes walking distance of centre of Bristol, with the Hippodrome & Old Vic an additional 5-10 minutes away. We are about 5-10 min walk from the Tobacco Factory Theatre. We are close to North Street (with lots of great pubs, shops, and restaurants). Bristol Temple Meads Train station is about 35 mins away on foot. You can also take the A1 Bus towards Bristol Airport and get off on West Street.

This space is not shared with anyone else.

We are happy for guests to use the kitchen and make space for people in the refrigerator and cupbords. We tend to leave the top floor to guests, so that they have privacy. The only exception is that we sometimes we to use the exercise bike which is in the loft living room, but we only use this when the guest is out and if the guest is okay with this. Guests are also welcome to use the bike if they wish.

Excluded Facilities

The middle floor is not available to guests.

I stayed with Lesel & her family for 11 weeks in early 2026. I loved the private space of lounge, bathroom & bedroom all to myself on the top floor, it was wonderful. I had a decent desk to work at as well as a TV with lots of options of things to watch, & even an exercise bike! The shower is amazing & now my one at home feels pitiful by comparison! A nice, comfortable bedroom completed the picture. Importantly, I was made to feel welcome & relaxed in their lovely home. Highly recommended!!
