Living with Host

What does this mean?

The guest room has ensuite facilities and is warm and quiet. Curtains keep out the light . There is a lovely view of the park. There is wardrobe space and a drying rack for laundry. Guests have access to the small but useful kitchen. This includes washing machine and dishwasher, microwave. fridge and cooker. There are plenty of kitchen utensils etc. Tea and coffee and milk is provided and guest can use herbs/ spices / sugar etc that is available.
The flat is 15 minutes safe walk from The Playhouse theatre. There are some nice pubs and restaurants en route as well as Tesco, Lidl, Costa etc.
The host is familiar with the theatre professional’s way of life and will accommodate late hours, the need to rest and so on. She is always interested in what is happening in individual shows both on and off stage!

Guest Parking

It is possible tp park outside the flat with the use of a free guest permit.

The Area and Transport

The flat is 15 minutes walk from the Playhouse theatre and is also close to bus routes for Lyceum and Festival theatres. The flat is next to the Water of Leith and a park and is 10 minutes walk from the Botanic Gardens. It is a quiet place to stay but it is close to many amenities- pubs, supermarkets etc. Guests can get to the town centre in 15 minutes by bus. The vibrant Stockbridge area is adjacent to Canonmills- the postal area of the flat. Guests can walk along the river to Leith- which is a popular eating/ drinking area!

Shared and Excluded Facilities

This space is shared with 1 Host.

The guest room includes a shower room/ toilet with a lockable door. The ensuite is exclusively for the guests.
Guests are welcome to share the kitchen with the host and to cook etc. Guest can also use dishwasher and washing machine.
Guests will have their own door keys. The block of flats is secure and can only be entered with a key.
Guests can also store bicycles in a designated room adjacent to the flat.

Excluded Facilities

The host has her own bathroom and bedroom. Guests are welcome to pop into the living room and have a chat / say hello etc.
The flat is a typical city flat- it is fairly small but the guest suite is pleasant and airy and private.
