Living with Host
This is a comfortable, generally quiet house for you to make a temporary home. Normal facilities are offered in the kitchen and limited access to the washing machine (and dryer). The garden is small but comfortable. The house is mostly quiet during the week, except when the family visit for a few hours at weekends. The accommodation is about 3 miles from the City Centre with a very good bus service, number 16, and several others to surrounding areas. It has a beautiful park nearby, as well as shops, supermarkets and takeaways within just 5-15 minutes walking distance. Larger supermarkets are some 30 minutes away and also have very good bus routes.

There is plenty of parking in the drive.
The Area and Transport
This is a spacious, ensuite room with a large wardrobe, TV, small desk, and chair. It is well-insulated, warm, and sunny during the afternoons, particularly in the summer. There are no black-out blinds.

This space is shared with 1 Host.
I do not host other guests, and only one bedroom is used for hosting. All 5 bedrooms have lockable doors. You will have your own (only) key to your en-suite bedroom, and I have no access to your room unless it is left unlocked for cleaning purposes. I have grandchildren visiting at weekends for a few hours, but other than that, there are no children around.
The open kitchen, dining/living area is shared, but there are 2 other reception rooms in which I stay when you are using the kitchen.
There is a strict no-shoes-in-the-house rule, so please, guests, bring your slippers along.
Excluded Facilities
The 2 reception rooms and the downstairs and upstairs family bathrooms are not available for Guests.

1. No shoes are allowed around the house, please bring slippers.
2. Use of the washing machine and dryer is limited to two loads per week. The dryer can be used once a week during winter. During the summer months, the drying should be hung outside unless it is raining. Any additional washing/drying load will cost £5. An additional cost of £2.50 will apply if the dryer is used in the summer months.

Surinder is a lovely welcoming host, the room spacious and comfy.
Transport into the centre very easy to get to and from.

À really lovely stay at Surinder’s house. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable, with a regular bus service to the Alexandra. Surinder is a great host - very welcoming and friendly, and she made me some delicious food! I’d very happily stay again.

Very Clean, very tidy house, Surinder is a lovly host, I can't faulter very much about my stay at all, She left the light on for me so i could see into the hall so i wasn’t walking into a house and trying to find the light switch (I had noticed Surinder) The driveway was big enough that I didn't have to move the car at all during the week. I do believe the rules and requirements by the host should be on theatre digs booker so guests know what to expect, (especially the additional cost of washing

Thank you Scott. The extra cost was for more than one laundry a week. You didn't use it at all. I'm sorry you should have me tioned it. But, yes, a good idea to have the rules on the site.
I had an extremely enjoyable 11 week stay at Surinder's home. She is very, very accommodating and the room was perfect. It is a great space with a lovely ensuite. Everything you could possibly want and need was provided and nothing felt like an inconvenience when sharing communal spaces such as cooking etc. Travel wise, the bus (no.16) was very easy and took no time at all, with a short walk on the other side to The Rep. I would return in a heart beat if I visit/work in Birmingham again.

Surinder is a wonderful host and her house is lovely. In advance of my stay, she was communicative (and unnecessarily apologetic) about a problem with the shower, which was promptly fixed; while I staying with her, she was welcoming but never overbearing - and extremely generous and hospitable in offering me food.
The room itself was great - clean and cosy - and the house (which she encouraged me to make myself at home in) close to connections for Birmingham City Centre.

It was a real pleasure staying here, the room was spacious and comfortable.
Working at the Rep theatre, my commute was very straightforward, as there is a bus stop going into the centre of town a few minutes away from the house.
Surinder was very welcoming and I enjoyed our chats, thanks again for my weeks in Birmingham!

Nice room with an en-suite bathroom, buses are very regular so no big issues getting to the town centre.

Craig is a very good guest, quiet, friendly and very independent.
