About these Digs
Living with Host
The house is a colourful 3-bed terraced house with full use of kitchen and garden. Well served by busses, and walkable from the city centre.
The double room (the orange room) has a double bed with comfy mattress, blackout curtains, a bureau desk and lamp, drawers and full length hanging rail. It's on the front of the house so gets some noise from the road (ideal for heavier sleepers/earplug users).
The king room (with the painted mural) has a king sized bed, comfy mattress, bedside lamp, and plenty of storage. It's a quiet room at the back of the house.
Both rooms are just next to the shared bathroom and separate wc.
We provide towels, hot water bottle, tea, coffee, and milk.
We're a quiet and friendly house, with 3 very sweet cats.
Check-in is from 4pm, check-out at 12 midday. We can be flexible though, so please ask!
Guest Parking
We have off-street parking on the drive. Let us know if you'll be needing it and we'll make sure there's space for you.
The Area and Transport
On Broadway, about a mile east of the centre of Cardiff.
- No Fit State circus: 8 min walk
- Sherman Theatre: 25 min walk
- New Theatre: 25 mins walk or 15 min direct bus (44/45/49/50/x3) every 5 mins.
- Wales Millennium Centre: 50 min walk or 30-40 mins by bus (1 change).
- Nearest high street: Clifton Street, 10 mins walk.
- Excellent selection of restaurants on City Road, 20 mins walk.
- Nearest bus stop: Royal Oak/Stacey Road, 2 mins walk (main direct bus routes to the city centre along Newport Road).
- Nearest train station: Cardiff Queen Street Station, 30 mins walk or 13 mins by direct bus (44/45/49/50).
- City Centre (Cardiff Castle): 30 mins walk or 20 mins direct by bus.
- Cardiff Central Station: 40 mins walk or 25 min bus + 10 min walk.

A great place to stay. Everything's straight forward and hassle-free. Spud is friendly and easy-going and very interesting to chat to. Easy walking to the centre or the bay. Bus stops outside, too!

If you're doing a show in Cardiff, THIS is the digs you want to stay in.
Spud and George have created the most beautiful, tranquil, colourful home with a stunning garden and gorgeous bedroom. They had great recommendations for things to do around the area and were very helpful whenever I had an issue! See you both again soon!

I enjoyed everything about this house—the interior is very interesting! It’s clear that the host takes great care of the property, which I really appreciated. I had a very restful stay. The location is a bit outside the city centre, but it's very well connected by buses.

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming facade from the street. It’s colourful and fun inside, partly inspired by Weird Barbie’s house (but less weird) and the Good Life (a 70s show). Spud ‘n George are lovely, warm and friendly. After playing the ole “hug or handshake’ greeting game, which I initiated (spoiler alert: it was a handshake), Spud kindly offered me a tea, however she had a homemade mushroom soup on the stove and offered me some 😋 Their house is clean fun and magical! Do stay, if ur nice!

Absolutely love this house! It's so eccentric and colourful with every room having interesting painting and decor. The hosts are the loveliest people. I only spoke to Spud on the messages, and I met George who very kindly stepped out of some social plans to let me into the house when I arrived. I immediately felt comfortable in the house and would definitely stay there again. LOVED IT

Had a lovely stay with Spud. Bedroom is super comfy with bathroom and separate loo across the hallway. Well equipped kitchen with own shelf in fridge. Easy off-road parking in front of the house. Very short walk (5mins tops) to the bus stop. Easy 15 min bus to the New Theatre. Would highly recommend.

Really lovely stay in a really lovely house! Spud and her partner were so welcoming and made me feel right at home. Space to park outside if you're driving and close to shops. Very quiet and peaceful area. Would definitely stay again!

Had such a lovely stay here . House is so brilliantly quirky and so homely . Bed is so comfortable.. I slept the best I’ve slept on tour .... it’s a really happy house with fantastic vibe and lovely people . Totally recommend .

I thoroughly enjoyed my time staying at spuds comfortable home with her lovely and well behaved pet dog Davy. Her home is in a very good location as there's an Asda and local gym just a 10 minute walk away. I'd definitely stay again.

Spud was an absolutely top notch host. They were so friendly and kind, and it really felt like a home from home. The house was super eclectic and fun and really comfy. It's about 40 mins to the WMC by bus which is ideal. Would definitely stay again!
