About these Digs
Living with Host
We have 2 cosy, attractive and comfortable double rooms (stage left = blue bedding photo, stage right = tulip bedding photo) with towels, TV, Wi-Fi and a small blue-tooth speaker, a guest-shared bathroom with shower/bath using softened water, use of the washing machine +pods, inclusive bills and free parking inc e-charger. On our landing is a small desk area you can use. Unlimited tea, coffee and condiments are included. Use the kitchen for food preparation when available- just leave it as you would like it to be found. Food storage is shared with us. We have a piano, and a garden and conservatory to sit in - just ask. Other areas of the house are private. Speak to us if you would like a partner to share your room at any stage during your stay. We own a Mini-Schnauzer called Rosie, who is hypoallergenic. She is small, quiet and friendly and does not come upstairs. We look forward to welcoming you and are happy to discuss anything more you might need, or want to know.
Guest Parking
We have free off road parking for 2/3 cars and there is free parking in our Close. We have an electric car charger which we are happy for you to use at a reasonable cost.
The Area and Transport
Our detached family home is situated in a quiet residential cul-de-sac 10-15 min bus/drive (40 min walk) from Winchester City centre/Winchester Theatre Royal. Southampton Mayflower Theatre is a 25 min drive, bus and train 50 mins dependent on traffic. Two minutes walk from our home is a large local supermarket (with a Starbucks) and the bus stop. At peak times the No. 5 bus leaves for Winchester every 15mins (exit on City Road for the theatre). Use live updates on the 'Stagecoach' app (£5 day-rider or Flexi-5 £20 for any 5 days - March 25). Central Winchester parking can be pricey - refer to our car park info' on arrival. If you like walking, beautiful country walks are only a few minutes from our front door. Winchester is steeped in history, with a beautiful cathedral, and 'castle' housing King Arthur's round table. It has a new leisure centre (50m pool) a library, a cinema and of course the beautiful Theatre Royal. Winchester has many popular cafes bars pubs and good restaurants.

This space is shared with 2 Hosts and 1 other paying Guest.
Your room is your private space but not lockable. We will come in to clean, change bedding or empty bins occasionally and at your convenience.
You will be possibly be sharing the main bathroom with another paying guest/family guest. The hosts have their own private bathroom.
The kitchen-diner, garden and conservatory, utility room and downstairs toilet is shared with anyone staying in the home.
The lounge/dining room is private but you may, on occasion, be invited in.

Great place to stay for Winchester, easy bus ride or car journey to the theatre. Lovely comfortable bedroom and own bathroom with great shower! Would book again, thanks Jane and Chris :) And homemade cake!

I had a lovely stay at Chris and Jane's house in Winchester. The room was very comfortable and Chris and Jane were very welcoming hosts. I would definitely stay here again!!

They constantly check in on you/whilst also respecting privacy, they are extremely hospitable and providing within the house and, on top of it all, just really great people.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and will definitely be going back if I’m ever in Winchester :)

Jane and Chris were the kindest most caring digs people ever! I was pregnant staying with them, & it was so nice being in digs where being unwell I didn't feel like I was a burden, more like with family. I moved to the 'stage right' bedroom, a slightly larger room opposite the bathroom, for ease of using the loo in the night which was thoughtful. The house is super cosy and very clean. Jane also makes amazing cakes! A real home from home. Netflix on smart TV's in rooms. Defo stay again! Thanks x

What an absolute pleasure it was to stay here! Jane and Chris were so friendly and hospitable and were so quick to take me in after a bit of a nightmare with my previous digs. They made my stay so relaxing, just perfect for what I needed - Rosie the doggo was a big bonus! Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone who has a car and is happy to travel to the Mayflower - a very easy 20 minute journey. Thank so much xo

Had an Amazing stay here with Jane and Chris! The house was clean and welcoming, Room was perfect, bed was super comfy, it was a great size and there was plenty of space. Would highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again!

Jane & Chris were excellent hosts and looked after us so well. The room was great, plenty of space and extremely comfortable bed. Added bonus of a parking space as well meaning I could park at the house and walk into town. I will definitely return!
