Living with Host

What does this mean?

Double room with ensuite bathroom in a very large, quiet, detached period house in North Colchester with plenty of space for parking and a big garden.

The room is double-glazed, with central heating in both bedroom and bathroom, with unlimited hot water.

We have superfast broadband (38mbs) with wired access in the room, as well as wireless access throughout the house.

Ideal for theatre professionals seeking a home-from-home for weekdays. Discount weekly or monthly rates available for long-stay guests. All bills included.

Access to the kitchen at reasonable times, with ample space for guest food in the fridge and larder.

We do not provide breakfast. However, guests are welcome to join us for supper Monday to Friday. This consists of whatever we happen to be having (veggie option always available), normally at about 7pm, at a cost of £6 per meal.

Mile End is a semi-rural area in the north of Colchester. We live right on the edge, meaning that within ten minutes you can reach the centre of Colchester in one direction, and Dedham Vale in the other.

The No. 2 bus leaves twenty yards from our driveway, and takes seven minutes to get to Colchester Station and about another seven into the centre of town. Services every 15 minutes.
There are fast, frequent trains from Colchester to London Liverpool Street (50 minutes), Ipswich (17 minutes) and Norwich (55 minutes).
Access to the A12 by car is three minutes.

We have three dogs (Labradors), and breed the occasional litter of puppies.

This lived up to the billing: it was a home-from-home. My hosts let me stay an extra night for no added charge and even ran me to the train station on Sunday morning. 5* treatment.

This is a lovely house & Catherine was a wonderful hostess. So helpful and kind. I was in a complete mess with a wisdom tooth and she even gave me numbers of dentists! Nice to be near green space. Yet 24hr Asda only 20 mins walk! Great digs!

Catherine is a marvellous host! It was a pleasure to spend 3 weeks in this beautiful home. Super location for station, supermarket, shopping etc. Lovely, large en suite room with excellent shower.All you could need is here. Including 3 lovely dogs!
