The summerhouse is a fab little hideaway. Very comfortable and well resourced with desk and wifi. Really comfy bed and perfect balance of privacy but homely welcome when you return. Glenda and Mark are delightful - great to chat to and very welcoming. I'm not surprised its always booked up! Will be back !

I had a lovely stay with Glenda and Mark, who were wonderfully warm and welcoming. The Summer House itself is small but perfectly formed - a comfortable double bed, en-suite shower and loo, and microwave, kettle and toaster. Bread, butter, milk, biscuits, noodles and an array of hot drinks were generously provided. I was also welcome to use the kitchen and washing machine in the main house. Glenda and Mark were as happy to chat as they were to leave me to my own devices. Great digs. Thank you!

Booked the double for four nights. Very comfortable bed, cosy room with use of own microwave and fridge (with milk, crumpets and butter!), tea/coffee/kettle too. Wanted for nothing. Exceeded expectations and super friendly Glenda and artist Mark made me feel completely at home (6stars). No surprise they are a favourite for productions visiting Southend. Hard to find fault. Glenda was so sweet and a great host. I was out most of the time but the single room was a perfect little place to rest my head. The room is cosy but has everything you could need. Glenda even supplied some bits and pieces for breakfast which was much appreciated! It's less than 5 mins to the Palace Theatre and about 10mins to the seaside, probably 15-20mins walk to the Cliffs so ideal wherever you are. Will definitely stay again! xx

I’ve stayed here on both times I’ve visited Southend. At Cliffs and Palace. Glenda and Mark are open, kind and approachable and very generous in the little touches that help you feel in a home from home.
I’ve stayed in the summer house each time. Love it there.

A real home from home. Glenda and Mark are so lovely. They felt like old friends. Such lovely hosts and full of recommendations for local eateries etc. The room is small but cosy and comfy and quiet. I had a lovely week in the summer house room.
It's a little compact studio with shower room on the end. Small kitchen set (mini fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle) including small pantry and crockery.
I was there in February and it was lovely and warm (you have control over heating) including an electric blanket.
Glenda is a wonderfully welcoming host, really good communication and very flexible. I was at the Palace and the 5 min walk to work was lovely in a busy week.

Glenda and Mark could not have been more friendly, generous and hospitable. The Summer house was cute, clean, warm and very generously provided with provisions... I couldn't get through all the biscuits (and I tried!). 15 minute walk to Pavilion theatre, 5 to supermarkets. Would highly recommend staying here.

One of the best digs I've stayed with, Glenda goes above and beyond to accommodate her guests and you have all kinds of facilities in the room. It's a great quick walk to get to either theatre, and it's close enough to a main road that it's very safe at night. 10/10 would recommend

Very comfortable room (the double), a couple of minutes walk away from the Palace Theatre. Glenda was very welcoming and hospitable, and made sure I had everything I needed. A tea and coffee station plus fridge, toaster and microwave in the room, and I was also welcomed to use the hob in the kitchen. Was particularly grateful when coming home after a very long and stressful get in with no time for food shopping to discover not only tea and milk, but toast, butter and honey provided for me!

I stayed in the summer house, which was a really lovely self-contained place which had everything I needed. We were performing at the Cliffs Pavillion, and the digs are a really easy walk to there.

I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Southend.

Had a lovely stay at the bottom of the garden. Nice and warm even in the cold of winter with a kettle, microwave, toaster and fridge provided. And I was still welcome in the kitchen. Lovely hosts and would recommend for cliffs pavilion theatre.

Lovely double room a stone’s throw away from the theatre! 😍 Glenda was friendly & extremely accommodating. Though immediately attempted to be fixed, Wi-Fi doesn’t always quite reach the bedroom, so bare this in mind when visiting. I’d stay again😀

For anyone working at The Palace, this is perfect. The theatre is LITERALLY, 3 mins around the corner. Free parking on the road. Summerhouse is warm, fully stocked with milk, coffee, Dualit toaster, microwave. Bathroom and shower excellent

Glenda &Mark were both so lovely! The summer house has it all if you wish to be self contained, it’s worth noting though that the trampoline next door and the children were quite noisy so struggled to sleep in. Funky home though & hospitable hosts.

A pleasure staying at Glenda's digs. I have stayed in all three very comfortable rooms over the years. My favourite is the Summer House which I stayed in again last winter, en suite, warm and cozy and your own space. Back again this year. Delightful!

I stayed in the small single room. Weak WiFi connection in this room but very warm, clean and comfortable. Biscuits and milk provided in large fridge. 15 minute walk from Cliffs Pavilion. I felt very welcome.

Stayed in the summer house. Not advisable during winter months as it was cold. The main house is big enough and Glenda welcomes you to sit there but I was expecting a more self contained property. No Wi-fi connection in the shed.

3 minutes walk to Palace Theatre. Glendas home is beautiful, the room is really comfortable with everything you need. Croissants and crumpets, teas and coffee all provided in the room. Perfect.

Stayed in the self contained summer house which was great. Do note you have to walk through the house to access.
Glenda was very welcoming and made arriving easy.
The only downside was the wifi was very unreliable in the summerhouse.

Lovely digs and extremely close to the theatre (Palace Theatre in particular, though I discovered its not far from the Pavilion after going to the wrong theatre). Very friendly hosts and homely room. Would definitely recommend these digs.

This was such a lovely stay- the bed in the double bedroom is so comfortable, and all the snacks and facilities in the room made the stay extra comfortable. It's super close to the theatre, and lovely and quiet! A brilliant stay- thanks Glen! X

I stayed in the summer house and loved it. Quirky and cute and self contained. Glenda stocked it with everything you could need; cereals, croissants, crumpets, teas and coffees which was so nice - a really thoughtful host! Also super close to theatre

Amazing digs! I had a lovely stay in the summerhouse - self contained with a tv, kettle, microwave, fridge (no wifi) and even had bread, milk and crumpets awaiting my arrival. Gorgeous house, and super friendly host. 2mins from Palace. Loved it!

Glenda & Mark (& lovely kitty!) are friendly & welcoming, but unobtrusive & laid back - perfect combo! The 'Summer House' is a sweet little chalet in the garden, fitted with everything you could need and more! Great location!

Loved my stay here in the little Summer House. May be a bit quirky for some, but suited me fine. Lovely house and an easy 10 mins walk (if that) from the theatre.

Glenda and Mark are lovely people, very kind and attentive - great location to get to the theatre - literally a 3 minute walk. The single room is small but has it's own fridge, kettle and toaster.

I had a lovely week staying with Glenda and Mark, and for the Cliffs Pavilion it's about a 12 minute walk door to door.

Glenda provided some food and drinks for the fridge in the room which was a great touch and I would highly recommend!

I love these people. I love their house, (and the summer house), and everything about them. I am also jealous that they are so damn cool, and that they are so f'ing nice to be around. I told them I felt like I was on holiday - because I did.

The theatre is just around the corner.

On-street parking is free. Bless. X

Glenda is very friendly and accommodating.
