Living with Host

What does this mean?

Three rooms, for single, twin or double occupancy in relaxed theatre family home.

The property is a three storey 1906 built terraced house which has been refurbished throughout, with many original features remaining. It is situated on a main road (B 4267) with very easy access to the A48/M4/A470,
At present ( May 2023) we have free on street parking (no restrictions). The road is busy but it is always possible to find a parking space in the vicinity.
However the Council has proposed residents parking on Llandaff Road. We have opposed this but feel it will be to no avail. We do not know how this will work out. Therefore if you intend to bring a car please contact me prior to booking to find out the situation.
All 3 rooms are at the back of the house and are therefore all quiet rooms.

There are good bus routes to the centre of the city, with only [REMOVED] minutes walk to the New Theatre and St David’s Hall, with the option of a lovely walk through Pontcanna Fields and the Castle grounds. Llandaff Fields are close by.

The Sherman Theatre is 35-40 mins walk away, or bus to Cardiff Castle and then 8 minute walk.

The Wales Millennium Centre is 5 miles away, taking approx 15-20 minutes drive along the link road. Alternatively frequent bus into the centre, followed by the Bay bus, OR City Circle line 1/2 from 7 minutes walk from the house. Buses run every 30 mins. Check with Cardiff Bus.

It is near late opening shops, including Tesco (!), many good restaurants, great coffee shops (also serving breakfast), take-aways and pubs. Chapter Arts Centre is 5 minutes walk.
Guests may make use of the extremely well equipped kitchen with use of Washing Machine, (with drying racks available), Microwave, separate guest fridge, oven and grill. Tea/coffee always available.
The house has central heating, wifi and a piano. Towels and bedding provided. Each room has its own television. Smokers may use garden.

There are no pets.
Room 1: On the 2nd floor, a newly made ‘attic’ room, with double bed and bathroom next door with shower, sink, toilet. Generally this bathroom is for the sole use of room 1, however there may be occasions when the bathroom is shared with the neighbouring room – not normally let out as a guest room. This room has a velux double-glazed window with blackout blind.

Room 2: On the 1st floor at the rear of the house overlooking the garden a bright room with a king size bed, with corner wash hand basin, shared bathroom with shower, bath, wash hand basin, separate toilet and wash hand basin. The room has double-glazed windows.

Room 3: On the 1st floor in the middle of the house, with twin beds, shared bathroom with shower, bath, wash hand basin, separate toilet and wash hand basin.

Wonderful stay! Very comfortable room at the top of the house exactly as described. Sheila is a very welcoming, friendly host and made me feel at home immediately. Near Bute Park and not far from Cardiff Castle. Wonderful cafes just around the corner and out of the busyness of the city centre. I chose to walk to WMC (about 45 min) but there is a regular bus service very close. Comfy digs at a good price.
