Living with Host

What does this mean?

I’m a freelance screenwriter living with my son less than a mile from the theatre. The area is nice and a safe walk back at night along Bootham. By day you can walk in along the river or through museum gardens. It’s a conservation area and a cul de sac, so quiet with free parking.

The number two bus also goes from the top of the road into town very regularly and the 2a runs quite late - til 10.40 on or so.

The room is large and airy in the attic and has its own large bathroom at the foot of its stairs.

Sometimes I rent out the smaller room to digs people too, and that person may share the big bathroom. My son and I use the downstairs one.

Both rooms have blackout blinds/curtains.

I’m a creative and very easy going. Come and go as you please.

Smoking in the garden is preferred, as is payment upfront and cash.

Guest Parking

There’s free on street parking.

The Area and Transport

There’s a leafy short cut into town from the bottom of my street. You can also walk in along the river. It’s a 15 min walk to YTR and 20 to the Opera house. I’m a 15 minute walk from the station too. At night it’s perfectly safe to walk back along bootham.

At the top of my short cul de sac is a nice pub that does street food and there’s a baker, deli and spar shop open until 11 pm.

Had a lovely time in this home. The bed was supremely comfy, room really nice temperature and well equipped with space to work, hangers and drawer space, invitation to make myself at home very much extended. Bathroom is beautiful and lovely and plentiful hot water, nice easy and safe feeling stroll into town for York Theatre Royal. Lovely people and home, felt completely comfortable here and would absolutely be back. Thank you! X
