Catered Large Single Room in Food-Obsessed Home (Norwich)

Cosy catered homestay in Thorpe Hamlet, 20-30 minutes’ walk from Norwich’s main theatres. A comfortable room in a relaxed, food-loving household.

Your hosts both work in food - I run a vegan meal prep business, and Tom makes wood-fired pizza for the pub opposite and local events - so the kitchen always smells amazing!

Guests have access to the shared kitchen for tea, coffee and breakfast, and home-cooked meals are available the rest of the time. This is a calm, friendly base for performers and creatives who want to be taken care of while working in Norwich.

Local amenities include a riverside sauna (5 minute walk) and 2 local pools, so bringing swimwear is recommended, and you're welcome to borrow towels.

Guest Parking

There is on-street parking directly outside and on nearby roads. It’s a quiet residential area, so spaces are usually easy to find at any time of day.

If you’re travelling by train, Norwich Station is around a 10–12 minute walk or a short taxi ride. Most theatres and city-centre venues are close enough to reach on foot, by e-scooter, or via local bus connections.

The Area and Transport

Our home is in Thorpe Hamlet, a quiet, green neighbourhood just east of Norwich city centre. It’s an easy 20-30 minute walk to the city’s main theatres, including Norwich Theatre Royal, Playhouse, and Maddermarket Theatre, as well as the train station (under 10 minutes) and Riverside entertainment area.

Buses run frequently along Thorpe Road into the city, and the nearest stop is just a few minutes’ walk away. There are several local shops, cafes, and pubs nearby, including the pub opposite where Tom cooks wood-fired pizza once a week. Mousehold Heath is at the top of the hill — perfect for a morning run or an open-air breather between shows.

Norwich is compact and very walkable, with plenty of independent food spots, riverside walks, and historic streets to explore during downtime.

All guest bedrooms are private spaces for individual use. Guests have access to a shared bathroom, located next to the room, with fresh towels and toiletries provided.

The kitchen is a working space for our food businesses, so guest use is limited to making tea or coffee and reheating meals. All main meals are catered and freshly prepared in-house, and we'll contact you the week before to get your order for prepared meals. We’re always happy to take guest requests or dietary preferences with a bit of notice.

Guests are welcome to relax in the shared lounge and dining area, and to enjoy the garden for fresh air or a quiet break. A washing machine is available for guest use on longer stays.

Excluded Facilities

The main kitchen workspace and storage areas used for our food businesses aren’t available for general guest cooking, however all meals are catered with guest requests happily catered to.

The hosts’ private rooms and office space are not accessible to guests. Otherwise, all key areas - the lounge, dining area, bathroom, and garden - are open for shared use.

This is a calm, food-focused home and we ask guests to treat it with the same care and respect they would their own.

No smoking or vaping indoors, but we can provide ashtrays etc for smoking outside.

No pets (service animals welcome).

Kitchen use is limited to tea, coffee, and reheating meals, however all meals are catered, and we welcome requests.

Please let us know if you’d like meals at specific times or need to store food in the fridge.
