Bright & Private Attic Space in Friendly Southside House (Glasgow)
This beautiful room is at the top of our old town house in the Southside of Glasgow. We currently only accept bookings from women - we use this term inclusively. We're back after a long break from hosting through Theatre Digs (due to Covid - which explains our low acceptance rating- don't be put off!) Your stay will be full of possible adventures when you're not working, as the area has parks, cafes, bookshops, pubs, take-aways and is a gateway to so many other parts of the city. There are gyms you can join temporarily, and always loads of community events and activities to get involved in.
We are a ten minute walk away from Tramway (or a two minute train ride). We're literally a minute to a train station which takes you into the city centre and we are near to bus routes which can get you to (or close to) Citizens Theatre, Theatre Royal, Kings, Oran Mor, National Theatre of Scotland, as well as many other cultural spaces you might be working in. There are also excellent cycle routes around this way that can take you into town, or to the west end depending on how fit you want to get whilst here.
We're offering a bright large room with plenty of space for sleeping and relaxing. It's got a King Size bed, and a sofa bed, a wee desk and plenty of cupboard space. It’s at the top of the house and quite separate, so privacy is guaranteed. We don't provide a TV but there is Wifi for guests. We'll make sure your room is tidy, clean and comfy and would ask you leave it in such a way.
We'll provide towels and sheets - with regular changes of both if yours is an an extended stay. We can make sure you have access to the washing machine (no dryer but hanging rail available).
The bathroom and kitchen is shared with the rest of the house and we will make some cupboard space available in both. We've had loads of folk stay and this always work out well. We will make you feel as welcome in our home as possible, but have created a room which allows guests to have their own space.
We understand that theatre folk will not necessarily keep 'normal' hours and that's absolutely fine by us - we're busy folk too - but we would expect and hope for guests to recognise that this room is in a family home and we ask that you consider this before you book. We're a friendly family of four. Myself and my partner, and our two sons, who are chat merchants and very used to having folk stay with us. I work at The Citizens Theatre and my partner is a musician and he works at a University. We have a busy life-style, with lots of work and a fair bit of socialising when we can fit it in. But we keep a calm house (as much as possible). We like to cook, we like to relax and we constantly have stuff that we need to get done that we never do!!
Keys will be available for guests (there will be a charge if these are lost). We're open to answering questions before booking so just get in touch if have any. We are also open to reasonable discussions on pricing, especially in relation to longer stays or where two guests are booking together.

We have two young kids here so there's plenty of kid-style stuff! In terms of the room, it is upstairs but we can put a stair gate on your room if that was required. It's big old room so plenty of space for mini additions. We also have a travel cot. We don't have a high chair. Happy to answer questions if you were thinking about bringing your kid/s.
