Guest Parking

I live in a cul de sac so although nearly everyone has a car my guests can nearly always find a space to park. I'm one of those people who do not run a car so there's quite often a space outside my house. Alternatively you can find a space in Devonport Road.

The Area and Transport

My home is just over a mile from the theatre so it's about a thirty minute walk to get there. There are several different routes you can take. I'm in a conservation area and a five minute walk from Devonport Park where I do some volunteer gardening. It's a delightful place to walk if you want to unwind.
You can also walk to Mount Wise which is a fifteen minute walk and gives you some wonderful outlooks over the river Tamar to Mount Edgcumbe.
There is a small convenience store across Devomport road, about a three minute walk.Theres also a Coop in Stoke Village, a ten minute walk and Lidl and Aldi in Union Street which would take you about 20 minutes to walk.
I live in a quiet area so as well as comfortable beds you'll also have a peaceful neighbourhood for a good night's sleep.
There are regular buses going into the city from here including the 33,14, 21 and 70 which is not so regular. You'd need to check Plymouthbus website for last buses.

Your bedroom is your own and the kitchen, breakfast room and bathroom are shared.
You can also join me in the lounge or use it if I'm not in.
Theres an area in the courtyard where you can sit outside to eat or relax.
My house is my home so there are locks on the inside of bedroom doors to feel secure.

The backroom is not usually for guests but this is negotiable.

3. Added £15 cost per night for extra person sleepover in the double room.
4. Bring your rubbish from your room and put it in the bins provided in the kitchen.
5. Don't put any food or drink directly on to the granite work surface as its quite porous and will absorb oil and other stains.

Val is a great host and made me feel instantly at home as soon as I started staying at the digs. Val was always kind, friendly and helpful. I had a great time staying there.

Cannot recommend Val’s place enough! The house is BEAUTIFUL and it’s a very easy walk into the theatre, I absolutely loved my stay there so so much and would book again in a heartbeat! X

An absolute joy. Val is wonderful as is her house. 20 min walk into town and plenty buses also. Stoke Village 5 mins walk away with plenty pubs and shops.Hopefully be back soon Val.

A beautiful bedroom, cosy and warm. And very clean. A 30/35 minute walk into town/The Theatre Royal. Easy to get taxis to and from town if you don't fancy the walk. Friendly host and great digs!

Lovely home in a nice part of Plymouth. The single bed was actually really comfy and the room is nice and spacious. Easily walkable to the theatre too. Val was a sweet welcoming host

I loved staying here - the house was beautiful and Val was a perfect balance of being friendly, and helpful whilst still giving you privacy! The only small downside was the 25 minute walk to the theatre, but I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely room, with a lovely host. I felt very comfortable during my stay here with Val. I walked to the theatre each day which took about 25 minutes but didn't feel very safe walking back a night alone so would get a taxi which wasn't very costly.

Lovely room with the most comfortable bed I've had on tour yet.

Val is a superb host & the house has a great layout for your own privacy.

The walk is an easy 25min safe walk.

Would definitely use again.

I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Plymouth.

I stayed in the single room which was lovely with a sea view! More than big enough for me.

The walk into town is about 25 mins, probably too far if you are not into walking.

Val is a wonderful host who gives you privacy and if you like cats 'Angel' is a treat!

Very nice stay with Val in a very nice house.

Comfortable bed and all very clean.

I found the walk into the Theatre Royal a bit long and ended up getting the bus in during the day and taking a taxi home in the evening which costs £6 from the theatre area.
