Living with Host

What does this mean?

Two stylish rooms available in our large family House!
The Blue Room is a good-sized, stylish double room in a quiet spot at the back of the house.
The Yellow Room has plenty of storage available, good lighting and USB charging points.
There is a sink in the Blue Room for a quick wash and brush-up; both rooms have use of a shared bathroom next door for when you want a long soak and a shower room downstairs.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, washer and tumble dryer and share the living room. And of course we have free WiFi! And a cute cat :)
Less than eight minutes on foot to the Mayflower Theatre. Central railway station is even closer than the theatre and it's a 15 minutes walk to the city centre and the MAST Theatre.
The local neighbourhood with Sainsbury's, Co-op and Lidl is nearby. Costa, Starbucks and Subway are close too.
We love hosting theatre people and look forward to welcoming you soon!

Guest Parking

We have one parking space on our driveway which is first come, first served. We do charge for this, it's £10 per week or part of a week (so £10 a week or £10 for a couple of nights). There is local parking on the adjacent streets but it's not 24 hour parking which means you have to keep moving your car around. There is also multi-storey parking close to the Mayflower but that can work out quite expensive.

The Area and Transport

We are so close to the Mayflower theatre here that even people as unfit as Tim and Kate can walk there in around ten minutes! The MAST theatre is approximately 15 minutes on foot in the centre of Southampton. The main rail station is at the bottom of the hill and can be reached in five minutes or so. There is a bus stop right outside the house where the 19a bus from the city centre drops off. In the city centre you will be able to visit any number of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as the City Art Gallery (well worth a look) and the Sea City Museum. West Quay Shopping centre is vast and has all the usual shops inside including John Lewis and there is Cinema Deluxe for all the latest films. Harbour Lights Cinema is a little bit outside the city centre at the marina - it's a fab arts cinema and has some brilliant films on. Highly recommend if you have any down time.

This space is shared with 3 Hosts and 2 other paying Guests.

Both the Blue Room and the Yellow Room have lockable doors as do the bathroom and shower room which are shared with other guests and the hosts. The kitchen, utility room, dining room and entrance area are shared. The garden is for everybody!

Love these digs! The yellow room is right at the back of the house so it's beautifully quiet, although it's a pretty quiet place generally so I'm sure the other room is great too. Comfy bed, lovely friendly hosts, and a 10min walk to stage door.
