PLEASE NOTE
To accommodate a guest requiring a longer stay during the festive season (late November though to the end of December) we like to reserve Room 2 for that purpose. Room 1 will remain available for shorter stay as usual. Thank you
We are pleased to advise guests that we now offer guests improved kitchen facilities separate to the hosts. These include a microwave/combination/grill, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery, a tray to take to your room and cupboard space accommodated convenient to you work surface. We think this will enhance your experience of staying with us at Kyveilog St.
The house is part of a terrace of large Victorian properties built at the end of the 19th century. Kyveilog Street is a short road which is bordered at one end by Cathedral Road (one of the main routes into the city) and at the other end by Pontcanna Fields, an extensive parkland through which it is a pleasant short walk to the New Theatre, the Sherman Theatre and the city itself. There is also good public transport.
There are two rooms available for digs guests. Main Room 1 is on the third floor. It is light and airy with a good view. The room itself comprises a double bedroom which is comfortably furnished. The bed is new and of a good quality. linen is supplied and changed bi-fortnightly or as required. The bedding is of good quality, non-allergic fabric.
There is a TV in the room that receives digital free-to-view programmes. The house has good wi-fi available.
Next to the bedroom is a private bathroom which consists of a bath, overhead shower, sink and toilet. You have exclusive use of this bathroom during your stay. Towels are provided and laundered weekly.
Main Room 2 is also a double bedroom. It is on the second floor and overlooks a delightful garden. The room has a en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
We want guests to feel relaxed and able to rest after a hard day of working. The owners of the house will respect your privacy and would expect that the same from you.
The area around Kyveilog Street hosts a number of useful facilities.
There's a number of places to eat locally from take away to posh nosh. There's also are a number of local shops within a few minutes walk away (chemist, grocers, butcher, deli, post office, and off licence).
There are plenty of cafes, pubs etc nearby. Chapter Arts Centre, which is within easy walking distance, offers a range of film and theatre and dance events. It also has a good bar and offers a reasonable range of food.
More broadly Cardiff offers the usual main stream films and a good variety of theatres and music events. The National Gallery of Wales in the city centre is well worth a visit if you enjoy fine art.
