Living with Host
We live in a recently renovated Edwardian semi, on a quiet road. The room on offer is a double at the back of the house, overlooking the garden. We have 3 bathrooms, a kitchen/sitting/dining room, a separate living room, a separate dining room, utility room and sun-room.
The house has all mod cons; a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, the usual kitchen gadgets, and a bean-to-cup coffee maker. We have wifi, netflix, & a cleaner comes in every fortnight. There's a sunny garden with outdoor dining space, gas BBQ & hot tub, all of which are available to guests.
Towels and bedding are provided.
We're friendly and sociable, & able to give advice and directions in Bristol. Stephen runs a housing association, Arwel is an actor (most recently appearing in the BBC1 TV series Lost Boys and Fairies) and was previously Artistic Director of Theatr Cymru (the Welsh-language national theatre).

Guest Parking
There is free on street parking. It's a wide, no-through road, so there isn't much passing traffic; and as most properties have off-street parking, finding a near-by parking space is relatively easy. There is also space for a bike in our garage.
The Area and Transport
We're in Brislington in south east Bristol. The city centre is around a 45 minute walk or a 15 minute cycle (a little longer on the way home, as it's slightly uphill). We are very well connected by bus routes to Bristol City Centre and to Bath. Buses to Central Bristol are around £2.50 (one way), take about 15 minutes, and run at least every 10 minutes (slightly longer intervals later in the evening). Check out the First Bus app (Bristol, Bath and the West region). Central Bath is around 30 minutes drive away.
The neighbourhood is fairly quiet and residential, with a couple of nice pubs close-by, a swimming pool, and a handful of restaurants and take-aways - all within 10/15 mins walk. There also two large supermarkets within 10/15 mins walk - Tesco (open till 12:00am) and Sainsbury's. There is also a Pure Gym within 20 mins walk. There is a lovely park at one end of our street and a convenience store at the other (open till 10pm).

You have your own bedroom and own exclusive bathroom (which has a claw-foot bath and over-head shower.) The rest of the house, and large garden, is available for you to use, and is shared with the hosts.

THE BEST DIGS EVER!!! If you’re lucky enough to get to stay here, I highly recommend. The house is beyond gorgeous and clean. The hosts are the kindest and most thoughtful. This place will be the best home away from home. I literally cannot wait to be back! Thanks for everything!

Simply perfect.
I stayed with Stephen and Arwel for 3 months and I could not have wished for a better living situation. Such a lovely, caring and wonderful couple, I now consider to be my friends as I got treated as if I was part of the family! They couldn't do more for me. The property is beautiful, immaculate and very comfortable. The hosts are both really welcoming, and delivered above and beyond any of my expectations. I'd give more stars for friendliness if I could. Highly recommend!

A genuinely lovely stay with Stephen and Arwel. They’re brilliant hosts, generous, welcoming, warm and considerate. They made me feel at ease straight away. Communication was easy, they have a beautiful home and the space had everything you could need and was so comfortable, warm and I really appreciated how thoughtful they were. I’d absolutely recommend them and would happily stay again.

Stephen and Arwel are the most lovely hosts, they accommodated me super last minute as an emergency dep on a show twice in one week! Their place is spotless, very comfortable, has everything you’d need and more, and is also only a short bus ride away into town! I’d really recommend anyone working in Bristol to stay here!

Best digs I’ve had. Almost desperate to tour again purely so I can stay here again when in Bristol.
I really struggle to sleep on tour but the bed and atmosphere here is so cosy. That I slept like a king - I even bought the bedding for my own home.
The boys took me in from a hellish digs experience elsewhere and I am so glad they did.
You’ll love it here and in my opinion it’s amazing value considering how high end everything available to you is!

I had a wonderful four weeks staying here. The accommodation is lovely and Stephen and Arwel were very friendly and helpful. It’s an easy bus ride into town. During the day they are very frequent and every hour until after 2am.

Stephen and Arwel (and Macs the cat) were brilliant hosts in their lovely home. Both were lovely and friendly and offered me lifts to and from town as well. However, it was an easy bus ride in to town, or a nice walk if I had the time to spare. The bedroom was lovely and the bed was very comfy. I had full use of a private bathroom and full use of the kitchen facilities, which they made sure I knew how to work. I really felt very welcome and relaxed here and I would definitely recommend.

Arabella was a delight to share our home with. She was warm and friendly, kind, thoughtful and incredibly respectful of our home - she even fed and looked after our cat while we were away. I have no doubt that we'll stay in touch and wouldn't think twice about hosting her again.
