Living with Host

What does this mean?

2 double rooms with blackout blinds/curtains. One is in the attic and has a river view. The other room is on the 2nd floor next to the bathroom. You have full access to the kitchen which has a beautiful river view. Good public transport connections to theatres. My home is in a safe suburban area.

Guest Parking

There is free street parking on the road outside my house.

The Area and Transport

My house is a 3 minute walk to a bus that goes directly to the city centre or Eastleigh centre, where the theatres are. Southampton centre is about a 4 mile walk. I am a 5 minute drive from Southampton Airport Parkway train station.

There is a tidal river edging onto the back of my garden (I have kayaks!) which is always changing due to the tides. There is a park lined with trees opposite so it's very tranquil. Sitting in the kitchen in the morning is a perfect way to start the day, especially if you catch the local swans flying in! You can easily spend an hour walking in the park.

This space is shared with 1 Host.

The bathroom, kitchen, downstairs toilet and garden are all shared. The kitchen has an island which has comfortable bar stools with a river view, which is tree lined on the opposite side.

I often have friends or family popping in or coming for dinner.

Excluded Facilities

Restricted use of the sitting room. You're welcome to use the sitting room in the day or when I'm not using it in the evening.

Other rules

Please don't leave keys in the front door at anytime as, even if I'm not home, family/friends may need access to my house.

Please don't change the kitchen underfloor heating temperature (small thermostat next to the door frame in the kitchen). The big black one can be used to change the central heating temperature.

The shower door is a 'reflective' door so it needs to be at an angle when you shower. If you 'close' it the water will escape onto the floor.

Had a delightful time staying at Kirsten’s lovely house. Parking outside on the street was easy and amazing views of the river each morning as I came down for breakfast. Kirsten made me feel most welcome. Food preparation was easy and the house was lovely and quiet at all times.
Would definitely recommend.
