Theatre Digs Booker Presents: The Cabin, Arundel (Arundel)

Ivy Cabin description

The Cabin is a newly converted, self-contained 1-bedroom cabin with private shower-room and easy free parking near to Arundel, West Sussex. Good access to Chichester, Horsham and Worthing by road or, Arundel railway station is a 5 minute drive (20 min walk) away.

The Cabin has one main room which also has a table and a desk in it. There is a kitchenette with 'fridge, sink and a microwave. In this main room is also the double bed which is raised to allow for a 2 seater sofa below it.

Please note that the bed is accessed via a short, easy ladder (see photos). Like that of a bunk bed but way easier and sloped.

There are 2 televisions connected to the internet with all the usual online services available (if you are a subscriber). One over the bed and one in the main part of the room itself over table.

The shower-room is warm, spacious and private.

Outside there is seating on an undercover veranda facing out over the garden and pond facing the sunset. There is also a table and chairs for more formal sitting-out near to the herb garden.

Nearby a very pleasant 20 min walk along the River Arun's bank (2 minutes away) will take you to Arundel Town where there are shops, restaurants, pubs AND Arundel Castle to visit (open April to November). There is also easy (some free, some paid) parking in Arundel on those less walking friendly days.

“I’ve been a touring musician for over 10 years and in that time I’ve frequently used theatre digs. I can safely say that “The Cabin” near Arundel is without doubt the nicest experience I’ve ever had.
The cabin itself is beautiful, it’s peaceful, well thought through, spotlessly clean and totally self contained. The grounds the cabin are situated in are idyllic and the view of the pond is a delight to wake up to - it feels like a very upmarket Centre Parcs!
Mike & Jackie who own the cabin have both worked in the business and therefore understand the situation when living away from home. They supply everything you could possibly require and are respectful of both the irregular hours we keep and our space.
You couldn’t ask for friendlier hosts and on several occasions they went above and beyond what was expected.
One example was that during my stay I had a request to remotely record some double bass,
It turns out Mike is also a music producer and even offered the services of his studio (The Playroom) to record in - the results were fantastic but I’ll leave a separate review for that!
I genuinely can’t recommend “The Cabin” highly enough and although it’s not situated right next door to a theatre it’s within easy reach of many - I was working in Southampton at the Mayflower and don’t regret the short drive out to this wonderful oasis.
