The room on offer is a medium-size cosy double in a spacious, light and bright 2-bed first floor flat in London SE23 with its own front door, a large double aspect kitchen diner, shared bathroom, a pretty urban garden with patio, plus a separate living room with Apple TV, Netflix, and a much-loved Yamaha Clavinova.
I’ve been welcoming theatre folk for a while now. I'm a musician and teacher with lots of experience staying in digs myself, so appreciate how important it is to feel safe and comfortable. The flat is laid out well for sharing, and I aim for a relaxed homely vibe, with the emphasis on respect for privacy and personal space. But also happy to share a glass of wine and a spontaneous shared meal now and then, obvs!
Claude (my cat) is the one in charge around the place, truth be told. He's a friendly old boy, chatty and affectionate. Great company if you're missing having a pet around. It’s really important to me that anyone sharing our home loves animals, and has had some experience of taking care of a pet - a cat, preferably. Please make sure you mention this if you contact me. I'm away quite frequently so need to know he's in good hands :). I have a wonderful cat sitter who also provides back up at these times.
Honor Oak Park tube (Zone 3, Overground) is an easy walk and gets you in to central London via the Jubilee Line in less than 30 mins. Direct trains to London Bridge take 11 mins. From nearby Crofton Park, direct trains to Bromley take 15 mins, Kings Cross St Pancras 35 mins. The N171 night bus from the West End stops right outside the door. There's plenty of free local parking - which is rare for London. The area has great local cafes and shops, and lots of green spaces. Sainsburys Local, Co-op and a Budgens with an incredible range of vegan items are all within five minutes walk.
Smokers you are welcome to use the garden, as long as you retain and dispose of your cigarette butts outside of the flat.
