Living with Host
I have a colourful spare double room (for single occupancy) in my quiet 2nd and 3rd floor flat, on the edge of Kentish Town in Zone 2 (N7 postcode).
THE ROOM
A mega comfy and firm standard-sized double bed. The room has storage drawers and, currently, our electric piano, which you're welcome to use at sociable hours. There's also plenty of plug sockets (including USB by the bed) and a lamp. Dimensions approx 3.3x3.5m.
THE FLAT
The flat is an upside down duplex, 2 bedroom flat on the top two floors of the block. Bedrooms, bathroom and toilet are on the lower floor, with my office, kitchen, lounge/diner and balcony on the top floor. The flat is at the back of a clean, well-maintained low-rise block and overlooks quiet communal gardens.
You'll have access to the kitchen, which features a microwave, gas hob, electric oven, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and Ninja Foodi mega air fryer/steamer/amazing cooking machine. I have plenty of crockery and cookery and can make sure theres some space in the cupboard and fridge for your food.
You'll also have access to the recently renovated lounge/diner where we've got a surround system for TV and films. There's access to Netflix, Amazon Prime as well as out own local Plex library of films and TV.
There is a shared bathroom and toilet, which is next door to your room. Towels will be provided.
The flat is centrally heated with fairly new radiators throughout and a combi boiler for fairly instant hot water.
OUR LOCATION
The flat is in zone 2, on the border between Islington and Camden. You can easily get to many places, including the west end, east end, London Bridge by tube or bus. We're very close to the Pleasance and Park theatres, with many others a fairly simple commute to. We'are also well served by busses, with the 29, 253 and 390 passing very close by.
We are within walking distance of the following stations:
- 12mins to Kentish Town Thameslink and Tube Station (Northern Line, Tube station to reopen end of 2024)
- 12 mins to Caledonian Road Tube Station (Piccadilly Line)
- 15mins to Tufnell Park (or a short bus ride) (Northern Line)
The following are a short bus ride away:
- Camden Road Overground Station (or 20 minutes walk)
- Finsbury Park Station (Overground, Victoria, Piccadilly Lines)
- Kings Cross (National Rail, Victoria, Northern, Piccadilly, Hammersmith and City, Circle, Metropolitan).
We're well served for pubs, takeaways and places to eat. Kentish Town is a short walk away for the better pubs, good food and small supermarkets. There are larger Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose stores within a short bus ride.
HOSTS
You will be sharing the flat with a 40-year-old tech professional. I usually work from home and have an office off the hallway. My partner lives here too and is a stage actor and musician. He might be home now and then, depending on his work schedule. I'm happy for guests to be around during the day to relax and use the lounge, etc, as long as there's not a lot of noise.
OTHER STUFF
Towels, Wifi, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Bread & Jam for breakfast are all provided. I'm open to requests if you have particular things that would be good to get in for breakfast. Happy to stock porridge or non-dairy milk, for example.
We're a non-smoking home.
