Quiet, bright room with blackout blind (Cardiff)

Very nice room in a large townhouse approximately 20/25 minute walk (through the park) or 6-minute cab ride to the New Theatre.

I'm a filmmaker and lecturer who worked for many years as an actor in theatre thus understand what's required.

There's WiFi (of course) and the house has two bathrooms, one with a dedicated walk-in shower.

The room is quiet and has a blackout blind. Be careful you don't oversleep!

Parking, given the house is so central, is tricky and requires a resident permit, there are some non-permit spaces down the street. Guests park when they arrive and don't move the car until they leave. Most guests, however, travel to Cardiff by train so parking is not an issue.

Pontcanna is a safe, leafy neighbourhood in the centre of Cardiff with the River Taff nearby running through Bute Park.

Our house is very friendly, and many theatre professionals return time and again.

Nice, bright basic room. Lots of space. Hadn't realised it was a shared house but housemates very friendly.

Only shame is that guests are strictly not allowed which I hadn't known beforehand.

HOST'S RESPONSE:

This is my house and I live here with two close friends. It is very much home; b... read more right, spacious and within easy walking distance to the centre of Cardiff hence actors, dancers and musicians return time again. The room, as advertised, is for single occupancy - this has never remotely been an issue. If you’re here for a few weeks e.g. panto, then having a friend to stay is absolutely fine. Flag it up beforehand, we’ll pretty much always sort it.

I was delighted with my stay at Talbot st. I arrived to find an extremely well presented property in a beautiful & quiet part of Cardiff, but only a stone's throw from the heart of the city.
